I never noticed it until now, but this lad seems to have much better English than any others I've baited up until now. Take a look:

I only noticed one syntax mistake that most native speakers wouldn't make... does this mean he may be a BADger, or just much better at English than most scammers?

I think the latter of the two, as I've had a few like that. Keep going & see what occurs.

Probably just a good script. Can't tell if the lad has typed that himself or copied and pasted it. Only time will tell but it's not unheard of.
Try asking him some specific questions that will force a typed reply.

I vote for script. It sounds too perfectly worded. Try asking something odd to get him off script (weather, strike in Nigeria (if his IP is there), or some other odd question that needs answering).

As others have said, it sounds like script to me as well.

If you ask your lad a question that requires him to get typing, his skills may not be all that after all. And if it is............I had a few lads writing in flawless English. In my opinion, enjoy! I always like baiting the ones that reply in full sentences Laughing

Some lads do have relatively good english.

It depends where they come from.

Remember that some of these countries are former british colonies and probably have formal english grammar schools where they would learn english from a young age.

of course, most of these people are not scammers, but it is possible some of them are.

my understanding is that the scripts are written by well educated associates who do not correspond with victims themselves, they just write up templates.

I had a lad from the ivory coast whose (who's?) english was very impressive, completely off script and still very good.

I would say check the IP... you'll know if it's not a lad pretty damn quickly.

Yep, Nigeria for one has English as it's official language. They also study English right from kindergaten so, we got educated lads out there.

Why on earth would the fact that a scammer writes in good English suggest that there is anything wrong? Confused

English is the first language of many scammers.
Even some that may speak English as a second language may have excellent writing skills.

Using your logic a huge number of scambaiters can't be genuine because their English skills are sadly lacking. Rolling Eyes
