I was going on with my phonelad deal and I recieved a reply from her/him and his/her name chnged to 'MUGU SCAM ARTIST' Laughing

has this happened to anyone else before? Question

Actually, the IP doesn't really matter. I just wanted to see the email... Wink

The only thing I can think of is that the phone lad has been using an Internet cafe and has been less than careful when ending his session & logging out.
I once went to an Internet cafe and found that the user prior to me had not logged out of his hotmail account properly, so I could read all his emails and mess around with the account (I didn't obviously). Maybe some fellow phone lad caught on and fiddled with the scammers settings?
Just goes to show, when using an Internet cafe, ensure to clear all history information, passwords and the cache before logging out... Wink

Good advice Luther. Lots of people treat public 'puters like their home ones and don't bother to cover their tracks at all. I've often found some very, ahem, 'interesting' images and emails on hotel/airport lounge PCs.

I love clicking on History while I am waiting for the computer to load some pdf on a hotel computer. It's the voyeur in me. I just look and click out and get my stuff done.

I almost never log onto 419Eater while I'm at a public computer. Most of them have their monitors turned so that anyone can see them. I will check and reply to my Hotmail and Yahoo accounts. I will make very sure to not only log out, but to hit the log out completely button.

I'm a tad unclear on the reply concept from you above--are you saying that you received an unsolicited warning from a W. African about a scammer in the midst, or an unsolicited warning from a fellow Aussie/scambaiter? And if the latter be the case, how did THAT happen? In any event it is quite murky, as is evident.

Interesting avatar you have there. Not the one I would expect from a modern stone-age family.. See if you can sell blow-up-dolls to The Lads. They might go for it.

Yes, I am a bit confused as well. I got a warning from the same address, I talked to the person afterwards and I said I was a baiter and he asked if I was from eater, I am guessing a fellow baiter had warned me.

Well if he's a baiter and he knows about theEater he should also know that hacking lad's accounts is a no-no. If they're phone lads he should just get on with closing them down.

maybe he wasn't with eater, just becoz he knew about us, doesn't mean he's a member. I remember reading a post about a guy that from from a different baiting site and they were talking about hacking and stuff.
