Can anyone explain why the enhanced CD I bought today will play on my wife's Win2K PC, but if I put it in my XP Home one it only sees it as an audio CD? I managed to copy the video content off it through her PC and onto mine, so that's not a problem anymore. I'm just curious as to what's stopping it playing on here.

Probably a hardware issue, instead of OS.

Also called "CD Plus," "Enhanced CD" and "Enhanced CD-ROM," it is a compact disc format that contains both audio and data. It uses the multisession capability to store up to 98 audio tracks in the first session and one CD-ROM XA data track in the second session. Audio CD players will play the first session and ignore the second. A multisession CD-ROM drive (all newer drives) will read the last session first, and the software in the data session can cause the audio session to be played.

It is a issue which is based on the difference between a CD player and a CD rom but it will work no problem in your XP system but, you will have to access the different files separatly,,,

I've had a few ECDs before, but this is the first I've bought since I upgraded my system and switched to XP from 2k. It's not a big problem though. I was more curious than anything.
