I'm brand new to this and very excited. I set up my baiting email account today and posted it at a bunch of message boards as recommended. I had a 419 response in 30 minutes!!! I was so excited, until I tried to reply and the email account it was sent from is already dead. Is this common? Will I constantly experience this heartbreak?

Hey there, and welcome to the baiting world. Lads often change their email addy for various reasons. Sadly, there's thousands of other lads you can chose from. I'd try the surplus letter forum for spare lads. |

It's not uncommon. The lads tend to have their mail accounts shut down on account of the fact that they are THEIVES!

There is no need to feel bad. Just go to the surplus letter fora and take as many as you like. Someone will respond to you.
If you still have problems adopting a pet, PM me. I have lots and would be happy to share custody.

Joe,
Many scammers send the initial email from a throw-away account, which shows up in the "reply to" field, but they tell you send your reply to a different address. They know that the original account will be shut down once the bulk mail is sent. Did you fit into this category? |

Scammer emails are truly like cockroaches...where there's one, there will be bazillions. I started my baiter box the same way just a few weeks ago, and I'm literally getting 30 or more a day now. Way too many to even bother posting them in the surplus letter forum.
Wait a day or two. Trust me that you will soon be deluged, and then you will be able to pick and choose exactly who you want to bait, from among a plethora of candidates. |

...for all the warm welcomes. I discovered this site about a month ago, one of my employees got a money order for $10,000 from an "International Lottery". Of course they wanted him to cash it and then send in a $3,500 fee for collecting the prize. I had never heard of the scam but was convinced it was just that. Luckily I looked into it and saved my poor guy from being financially raped. So, here I am eager to throw it right back. I took the advice and hit the Surplus section and have already received a reply! I'll make sure to let ya'll know how it goes. It's nice to know ya'll are here if I need help, as I'm sure that I will. Thanks everyone! |

Hi Joe, welcome to Eater.
Special K hit it on the head with his quick suggestion to go to the surplus mugu thread. The beauty of this is that you do not have to pollute anyone's guestbook and you can just cut and paste into a new baiter account, not a catcher account. It puts a bunch a fresh lads responding to you at about the same level in one neat box within hours. You will find it 100% spam and risky free. |
