Hi Guys!
I am thinking this may be a scammer.
Can anyone help me put this guy in his place if it is?
If it isn't can anyone help me tell?
Here are 6 letters, they come with pictures of the same girl, and not
model poses.

1)Greetings , I am very glad that you have written to me. I at all for a
long time have bought a computer and so forgive if that that not so.

The fact that she mentions how crappy her salary is makes me automatically suspicious and I would guess she will soon be asking you for cash for her visa cause she is so in love with you and wants to come visit.

I've got one like that. Notice that this one goes on and on and on, very interesting letters, but look how she doesn't say anything specifically relating to you. Mine's like that. Fascinating letters, all about her job, her dog, her friends, and mine also says I'm the only guy in the world for her. Look how fast this girl has fallen in love with you, how can she fall in love when she talks so much about herself that she doesn't have any time to pay attention to what you say. She's moving toward the idea of meeting, and I want to meet her at her home, she says she wants to meet someplace else. This is so she can have some kind of problem with the visa, or some kind of disaster requiring a quick cash infusion.

In my opinion, the answer to "is this a scam" is almost always "yes." That's because your own perception and reasoning tells you that something isn't right, as I think has happened in this case.

Don't bait her under the name you've been using if you have given her any personal information. Just write to her with a new email, pretending to be in the middle of your correspondence, she'll probably pick it up without noticing this is the first time she's heard of you.

Maria - A "vlad" is a Russian/eastern European scammer. The term "419" comes from a provision of the Nigerian Criminal Code which forbids fraud (many scams originate in Nigeria, so the term "419" refers to any e-mail scam).

Free e-mail places:
We usually recommend three:
Fastmail
gmail
and hushmail.

Each of these is free, and each will hide your "IP address" (your location) from the Vlad.

"headers" are the information at the top of the e-mail that tells where it is coming from. Fastmail, gmail, and hushmail hide your headers. Otherwise, you can post the headers on this board, and people can tell you where this scammer is located.

Usually you want to look at the last IP in [brackets]
207.226.45.254 shows the US.

Doesnt' matter, it's not coming from Kazan, and you see 'the Bat!'.

Anytime you have 'TB!' and something dodgy about the headers that would not show up in an email from a normal person.....it's a vlad for sure.
Our friends are using any means possible to make sure we can't get much info from the headers, but in doing so.....normal info is not there.

So, The Bat is a mailer program that hides identity, and she/it is
coming from the U.S.

I am now still emailing answers to her/it from my regular Yahoo
in order not to alert her. I have asked her specific questions now, but very innoccous ones.

I am now saving my sent messages, so that I will have a great record of my first VLAD Squish.

TB! is the program of choice for vlads because it can fully automate the emailing program using macros (to automatically change the name for each letter sent out among other things) and work with multiple email accounts as easily as one account. It's a legit program that scammers use because it does all they need in an emailing program.

..... want some pics of her with her kit off. By the way if you google these "Russian" love scams, you can dig up many sites dedicated to exposing these. You can be sure that you can find her picture somewhere. It's probably the photo of some nice girl who has no idea what her pics are stolen.
By the way there are many genuine FSU ladies out there, so don't be too dis-heartened by this.

Push harder for the photo with the dictionary. I use a phrase similar to this. "My darling, I need to be 100% sure you are really the lovely girl in the photo, not just someone sending me pretty pictures".
The passport will be a fake and be part of their photo set.

Interesting too how the letter is all proper case but the part about the dictionary is mostly cap locks. Cut and paste letter and write a sentence!

The first bit is the scripted part and the second part where they have added in their bullshit answer. Next they will be saying that don't have camera or it's broken. Then you tell them "What about a family member, friend or work colleague, surely someone has to have you one you can use"

All of her pics seem to have a date stamp from the camera, but no year.
Anybody check to see if the year was edited out?

Take any fake passport scan you can. Make sure you post it on a public board with your info, like Romancescam or Russiandetective.

Some numpty victim may wake up when he sees the same fake passport he was sent, but with another girl on it, or name, or????

You can go to K7.net and get a free number (US) that takes messages and receives faxes.

You can get an account at FreeWorldDialup and get an account that allows you to do VOIP using your computer, and you can get a free number from IPKall that gives you a US phone number that you can use to hook into FWD. There is also a provider that will give you a number in Europe, I think Britain, but I don't remember what it is. It's discussed somewhere in the Eater forums, which is where I got the information about the K7, FWD, and IPKall.
