^^^ I was off the internet since Wednesday night. I didn't screw up till Sunday. I plan on picking myself up and starting over, and I am bringing IWM with me. Hell, I smoked for over 30 years, and I will not let 1 little setback screw it up. I will be back with a vengence..............

On new years evening I was considering giving up, but then I thought of how hard it would be and I didn't even try. Wisdom will come after years I suppose.

The saving money thing and buying something with it tactic doesn't really do anything for me. To be brutally honest, I don't really notice the �5.50 a day that I've saved. I know that works out to �35 a week, but if I want something, I buy it anyway (yes I know I'm a spoilt bastard). I gave up because I have two very young kids and I'm more worried about the effects smoking would have on them.

Don't worry at the moment Bomb. I have no plans to start again even though today has been hard to get through. I wrote that purely because venting helps me sometimes. If I do cheat, you'll know 'cos I'll stop posting in this thread and hide myself in shame. Wink

IWM and HB. Get back on the wagon guys. I sure as hell know it's hard, but like I keep saying: if I can do it, you can do it. And I'd sure as shit feel better if I knew some other poor bugger is suffering as badly too. banghead

I guess you have to weigh up the temporary relief/pleasure of having a cigarette against the guilt and frustration you feel afterwards for giving in to temptation. This is an addiction like any other and giving up is tough. And yes, it's physical AND a psychological. Your body is screaming for a nicotine fix and you mind is cheering it on in the background. Everyone falls off the wagon at some stage - the trick is to be motivated enough to climb straight back on again before it continues down the road without you.

I was a smoker for 25 years and quit about 3 yrs ago...first 6 months are the worst but I guess my lungs are happier as it was really getting to me bad, but now I don't even think about them at all Very Happy

My neigbour had a heart attack due to a dodgy ticker from years ago, I was stood in the hospital while a nurse was doing some lung test on him and he said "well they've been alright for the twenty years I've had em" - he's 48 so I kept picturing him in a shop with lungs on coathangers "Can I have some in XL please"

If anyone can post me a picture of a CBR600F(Black and yellow) I'd be real happy and drool over that instead of all the fags everyone's smoking in the outside area! (I'm at work so can't do piccies of anything Sad

Stay hard guys, I did it wrong the first many times - by just cutting back.

Okay it's the weekend, I'll have a couple... bah, Bathurst - I deserve a couple...

NO EXCUSES, honestly the unexpected anger that came out - I feel sorry for my poor customers and family at the time.

All I can honestly say now is after being nicotine free for a few months, and not having bought fags for years... it really is different.

I never liked tailormades, and now they smell like acid. Some ryo's smell beautiful.... but the gagging, and your bodies physical reaction to a drag is something to remember.

Keep it up, and buy some flowers for your closest - those who are within your firing line.

and for some reason, that I didn't know at the time, the CBR600F in yellow and black (Yello fairing, black to back) is really hard to find.

I will find one though. I will conquer this not smoking business and I shall rise again!!!

I used to love pulling up to pubs on a summers day, on my baby (bike), all the lads sitting outside and looking at my bike (Coz she was very special) and I took my lid off, like a chick in a porn flick. Great feeling Laughing

I just didn't smoke enough when I quit to have saved that kind of money after 6 months. But it's good to have things to look forward to.
