How these lads (morons) don't know there's a time difference

When lads call me, they do so through a call-forwarding service that goes to my cellular phone (gotta bait safe!). Last night, after a rugged evening of intense labor, I decided to go to bed early. I put my phone on the charger in my room, and must have forgotten to turn it off. 3 AM (EST) rolls around and my ass is awoken from a good sleep by my cell ringing off the hook. I look at the phone and sure enough it's my idiot Lagos-based lad.

I ignored the call, and wanting to go back to sleep right away, I didn't even bother to turn the phone off. Not five seconds after getting back in bed, the phone starts ringing again. I finally answered it and began screaming at the lad, who in turn told me he wasn't aware there was a time difference!

Anyone ever been waken by these idiots? He has an intense session on scheduled for today, so I believe that will be enough retribution for him making me get up.

Experience here on Eater has shown that (periodically) 32% of Eater users don't know about time zones or don't know that there are continents and countries outside of North America, so I'm not surprised about the lads. Confused

It isn't just mugus. My husband woke me up at 4 a.m. yesterday. His excuse: Well it's the middle of the day here! But maybe he hasn't forgotten the time difference, maybe he's checking on me....

Who are these people? How can they live a normal life? What do they do when they want to speak to somebody? Do they look the same as everybody else? Are they allowed to drive cars? Where do all the daylight savings hours go? AHHHHH too many questions

There are a lot of people, baiters, lads, civilians, who have no clue about timezones. I was recently in regular phone contact with New Scotland Yard in London (long story, nothing sinister) and on every single occasion they called me at 3am here (Australia). I reminded the Detective Sergeant (!!) each time that he wasn't catching me at my most mentally alert having just been blasted from a deep sleep but he never quite Got It.

Simply amazing that some folk do not realize the Earth spins on it's axis, 23 degrees off the ecliptic creating "seasons", but they understand the "Zodiac".

There's never really any excuse for not being aware of the time anywhere in the world. If you can't work it out yourself, there's an extension for Firefox called FoxClocks. With this extension you can have the time in as many cities as you like displyed in the browser status bar.

The worst I had was 8AM, but luckily my phone was on silent. My baiter phone is always on silent, in fact, as I dont really care if I miss the call.

Yeah, I had a lad who would ring at about 1.00 am and who just couldn't understand that the time in Coutonou, Benin, wasn't the same as the time in New Zealand.

By some slight of e-mail I passed on my "business" phone number - which was really the phone number of a local house of ill repute. The lad wasted much much money ringing the ladies of the night. Eventually I had to admit that there had been a mix up of the phone lines and my secretary was wondering why she had so many men ringing her and asking how much her services were.

The long run was that I eventually suggested he not ring me - "You said to keep our deal confidential! And the phone lines are not secure." - and to rely on e-mail which is completely secure. Well, until you know who chopped the WU money transfer Laughing
