Do you know that they refer to each other as 'boy'? In many chats I have had, that is how they refer to each other.

Here's the deal. Provide us with the following:

1) Location where you came across this address.

2) Full headers of the email. (Including screenshots)

3) Copies of any other racist shit.

4) Don't delete anything from your account (for future verification).

If you do this, and we find out its someone on this site, I can guarantee you that we will ban this user in a heartbeat. Give us the tools to do what we need to do.

If we are unable to find out who this user is, you may want to hit up the other sites and see if it's one of their members.

How are we to condemn him if we don't know who he is? Baiting emails are generally anonymous and nothing to do with names people use on forums.

BUBBA, check the IP from this baiter. If you see anything - other than maybe gmail - then it is most likely nothing to do with us, or at a stretch some arse-wipe who doesn't bother to read the stickies.

Not sure what you want. Being racist to scammers is bad. Happy?

Out of interest (not out of a guilty consciense I hasten to add) I googled my catcher account name and all the guest books it's entered in, came up.

I did the same with the e-mail addy menioned here as being entered into a guest book - no result.

I make no judgement - just thought I'd mention it.

A few notes on policy.

First of all, it is considered always improper to pose as a scammer to mess with a baiter. This is somtimes known as "badgering." I don't care how bad you think the baiter is; never do this.

Second, there is no general policy here on telling the scammer he has been baited. I ALWAYS do it. My reason is, I don't want the scammer to think he was just THAT close to getting a big payoff. This just encourages him to continue scamming. I write to him and suggest he change his ways.

Others disagree, thinking it's more important not to educate scammers in spotting baiters.

I'd like to say that I'd never ever thought that using the term lad was racist.
Its in common usage in Scotland, usually referring to a youth/ early twenties, though some older males try to refer to themselves as "having a lads night" in effort to feel younger.
Less grown up males may be laddies, they tend to exhibit a less mature outlook on life and play silly games
I've referred to my sons in these terms.

Racism in baiting is unacceptable, we all know that and condemn it.
Another thing which is unacceptable is badgering. The fact that you apparently snagged a racist baiter don,t make you some kind of hero, it just makes you a badger!

I have had the same thought...that I would prefer to let my mugus know that all the time they spent during the bait was wasted, rather than letting them think that they just have to work harder on the next one and their payoff will come. However, I agree we should never tell them about 419eater, and we need to be cautious about letting the word get around that v3rifys3c is fake.

What I have done a couple of times is performed a header analysis to get reasonably close to where the scammer is, and then at the end of the bait, sent them an email telling them that I work for the "International Committee to Fight 419 Crime", and the whole thing was just to get them to keep writing so we could track them down...and that we now have a task force in some location close to them, and they will be arrested shortly. I'm sure most of them know it's bullshit, but perhaps a few dumb ones will get all freaked out and stop scamming! (Well, maybe that's a pipe dream...) In any case, whether they believe it or not, they're bound to be pissed off that they wasted so much time on nothing.

By the way, my take on the reasons for making them look foolish is to hopefully demoralize them enough so they'll STOP scamming money from unsuspecting little old ladies. And yes, I DO get a charge out of watching criminals demean themselves. This might have something to do with the fact that I saw the heartache caused when a close friend's mother, who was in the early stages of Alzheimers, lost almost $20 grand to a scammer who she thought just wanted help in dispersing money to the poor. The way I see it, they ALL are that scammer, and they ALL deserve whatever we can dish out at them.

But Bubba, if it makes you uncomfortable, perhaps you're not cut out for this hobby.
