TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,
MY NAME IS I AND MY HUSBAND ARE
ON A CHRISTIAN MISSION TO
AFRICA AND I CAME ALONG WITH
MY PUPPY (YORKIE). AFTER A WHILE I NOTICED THAT
THE AFRICAN WEATHER IS NOT
GOOD FOR THE PUPPY AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO
TAKE GOOD CARE OF HER THE WAY I
ALWAYS DO BECAUSE OF MY JOB. I NEED SOMEONE TO
ADOPT HER AND TAKE CARE OF HER
THE WAY I ALWAYS DO. IF YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF HER
DO SEND A REPLY AND I WILL
EMAIL YOU HER PICTURES. I HOPE TO READ FROM YOU.

I responded and had to request the picture a couple of different times. Cute pup, if she's real. Anyway, now they have put me in contact with an agent who will see me through the transaction. YEAH, Right Very Happy

But I was just curious if this is common modality.

This is a very common scam, there are quite a few examples on this forum if you do a search for yorkie or puppy.

It's not a 'common' scam as such when you compare it to other types of scam. But how many vets bills, food bills, export licences, transportation fees etc...... do you want to pay for ?

Ok....I guess I should have searched before posting. Found the exact same scam here...word for word sent to someone else. Also some ideas on how to string them along for a bit.

Ive just recieved a yorkie letter exactly like the OP only with a different name, I have kindly emailed back to see if the puppy is compatable with other pets and gave a (very long) list of the pets I already have, Then I think I might tell her I am a headkeeper at a zoo or something..

There will certainly be a monkey spanking joke to be played out somewhere along the line (I hope)

I do not know why you are still delibrately delaying the puppy. Are you that
wicked? She said you contacted her for the save keeping of the puppy, she
deposited $100 for the shipment after knowing that you are delaying the
shipment.
I will want you to do me a favour again, tell Mrs Holmes to pay the money
because you are delaying payment or i should send her back the puppy.
My boss has known about this and he is not taking it lightly with me.
please if you can help me with this transaction i will be very greatful.
I admit that i made the mistake for registering the shipment without
confirming payment.
My boss said he will deduct the fee from my salary. The $100 deposited by
mrs holmes after i told her about the delay in the shipment has been used
for the feeding of the innocent puppy who is responding well to people
around.

I am sooooo wicked. Gee, $100.00 for feeding a 10 week old Yorkie. Must have a hugh appetite. Very Happy

Oh well, I see more future delays in getting the money there, must be my psychic side showing.

This is my first mini-bait. Just getting my feet wet.

Tell him you've changed your mind and instead you want a 500-pound gorilla that knows how to put on gumboots and can operate a lathe.

I'm sure the lad will be happy to accomadate.

Then you can complain and tell him your gorilla actually arrived, but isn't working the lathe to your satisfaction and you want to return him. (keeping his gumboots for your troubles).
