Pretty straightforward locked trunk scam. Technically speaking, this is my 3rd or 4th bait. I've been reading these board for a while, and baiting off and on. I want to really tweak my methods. I'm sure a lot of what I'm doing is a bit clunky. How can I improve it?

Typical scammer BS-letter (I think I lost it in the interim, but you can use your imagination).

It looks to me like lads are twigging to the faked MCTN digit-loss modality. That has certainly been my experience. My guess is that a different modality is required for most of these lads.

I'm trying out the following alternate strategies:

1. WU? MG? I sent you an envelope full of cash! Here's the FedEx number...

2. Give me a bank account to wire the money to. (...which is then reported)

3. I'll bring you the cash myself... I'll be in your city next week anyway. (obviously, you'll need a compelling reason you didn't show up...)

4. Before I can wire the cash, you need to register with my company as an authorized vendor. You can either pay a fee to expedite, or fill out these forms...

Right now I try to stretch out the initial phase as much as possible, and get them off script immediately by asking them lots of dumb questions, telling them I need to check with some higher power, etc. I'm just a relative newbie with the baiting but I've yet to have a bait survive the point where I'm supposed to send them money.
