I have several baits going that has been using my baiting email however one of the baiters has asked to chat real time on Yahoo Messenger.
Normally I would shy away from such things however, I have noticed that a few people on here have shown there chat logs.
WHat I was wondering before I start up a conversation was how secure is yahoo messenger? If it is not very secure is there another program or way of being secure.
If I cannot make the chat secure Ill continue with email. But would be nice to wind them up then and there.
Thank you in advance.

I use Yahoo chat a lot on my baits. I prefer to use a program called Trillian for it though. for one thing they can't do file sharing on it so they have to email you any pictures. You can virus check them before opening them then. Also make sure your IP address doesn't show as too close to where you really are before doing it. Otherwise I say go for it and have fun. Remember though that it's not like email where you can think about what you're going to write. You have to do it all in real time and keep to your character/story. |

Thank you for the info.
Yes I must remember to stay in charater. But if I don't I can always hurl abuse at them and then contact them on a different email and start over. Aslong as I'm wasting there time I'm doing my job. lol
How do you track where your IP is from Ive never worked that one out? I usually use the secure emails that hide that sort of info.

I use the TOR proxy...
Info can be found at tor.eff.org
its not very user friendly to get going. Practice alot until you feel comfortable with it.
it is really only one of the few proxy implementations I trust. |

Is there anyway you can disguise your IP completely on chat programmes? Or even change it so it shows to be in a different country?
I'm guessing not but you never know.

TOR changes your IP completely and it is random and path back to you is encrypted |

ghostsurf 2007, its a security software its really good. it hides your IP and it makes it seem you are in a different part of the word... the only problem with it... is that some websites will be hard to use but it is really secure.. |

There's no real need as long as your IP address doesn't show up as your doorstep. I've been IM baiting for over a year and never had so much as a sniff of a lad that could find my location. They're either too stupid or too lazy to do it. |

Make sure the 'archive' function is turned on in Yahoo......can't remember if you need to turn it on in trillian??
You'll get some interesting chats you'll want to be able to share...
Also, if you get one that is "live" and can use a webcam.....you'll want some capture software...
(those are the most fun!!))
