Just Googled it and seen the news mate, my thoughts are most definately with families.

The headlines on the news here in Ireland say "Worst college shooting in US history"

I'm just astounded at that, the very fact that there have been so many that this can be the "worst" really makes you think doesnt it.

Having grown up with killing all around me I feel so much for the innocent people affected

^^^^^^ At this time there are 32 confirmed dead. They seem to be suggestion now on TV this will be the worse mass murder in US history. The shooter went to a dorm and then into the engineering buidling during class.

Sometimes you just can't find the words to fit such an event.

My thoughts are with the families and friends. So many people affected by one individual.

Yes, I was just talking to my friend about this. This morning I pasted the link in the skype chat about it. I had no clue about the shooting till I checked my firefox latest headlines (I hardly watch tv).

I am extremely disturbed by this...I'm a student at KU and I can see the exact same thing happening here. My thoughts are with all of you in Blacksburg today, there are no words that can describe how shocked and horrified I am for all of you. It's my birthday today, but honestly I just don't care anymore. I just hope you guys can heal and get back on track as soon as possible.

How terribly sad for the families and friends of the victims. It really makes you wonder what is going on in the minds of some people.

all I know is I got to turn off the local news or it will just make me more and more mad that someone will do this - and I swear if a lad uses this in a scam i will be sure he never make a dime.

Just seen it on the news. Words cannot express my horror. So many young people's lives cut short and so many others ruined forever.

My thoughts go out to the family and friends of the dead and injured.

So senseless. B'burg was such a sleeply little place, and even though there are 26,000 students, the lifestyle there was always part of the attraction to me. I made so many lasting friendships in my time there. My last year there I had a class in Norris Crying or Very sad

Bless those young people and their families. I know of one person who is still waiting to hear about his grandson.

I feel really sorry for the family members who have to hear the news that their son or daughter was murdered. What a cruel world we live in sometimes.

shame about the hell the students went through. barney fife and the vt cops should of evacuated the campus.

After the London bombings, many here switched to British themed avatars. I know it may seem trite, but I'll do a little switch. My favourite football player, former Buffalo Bill Bruce Smith went to Virginia Tech. So, I'll switch to an avatar of him for the next little while.

My condolences go to those who have lost loved ones, and my thoughts are also with those dealing with the aftermath, especially the emergency services, who will undoubtedly find this traumatic. Sad

Its incredible how this affects people all around the world. The radio station I listen to in the car here in new Zealand played a conversation with the mother of a New Zealand scholarship student who is doing engineering at Virginia Tech. She'd been out of her mind with worry until they were able to contact their son.

My thoughts go to all the families or those who have been lost or injured, and to those studying at virginia Tech who have lost friends and classmates.
