No, I found the last episode to be quite upsetting, but I don't want to post details in case people who are taping it while they watch the footie stumble across them!

Just watched it. Found it a bit of an anti-climax really to be honest. Nice to see him snog Cartwright finally, although by 1983 she will weight 14 stone. Shocked

The second series never really got going IMHO. The ending leaves the way open for the proposed 1980s supposed sequel being mooted.

Not to spoil it for anyone, but it reminded me of the ending of one of my favourite films. I enjoyed it and understood the logic behind it.

A part of it was predictable, but there was a twist made me Shocked

Still it made sense (to me) and was a good ending for Sam.

I haven't enjoyed a TV series for ages, I'm a picky cow. Life on Mars was really strong storytelling.

I though the last 3 episodes of this series were good, although overall not as good as the 1st series.

To be honest, in a way it could only end as it did. My thesis was that he got home, didn't like it and decided to repeat the accident again - I was kinda close. Razz

I have to admit, it was a bit of an anti-climax, but there were so many theories being floated out there that somebody had to be right. Still, when he stood there, allowing the team to get massacred, I did think to myself:
"maybe he does just leave them?"

Overall, I thought it was a nice ending (though not as good as the end to series 1) to an awesome concept and I'm throughly looking forward to the sequel.

One final thing, I swear that Frank Morgan says to him: "you are DCI Sam Williams" when they're in the cemetery. Bit of an inadvertant promotion there, eh, Acting DCI?
