The only answer I can come up with is that a key logger was loaded. |
If you want some help, run Hijackthis, save to log and pm me the results.
Download Here
If you're not sure what it is, just read a bit about it. It's safe but dont play with settings unless you really know what you are doing. |

I had my credit card details stolen about 3 years ago. One of the sites I order dvds from got hacked into and the thieving gits got hold of all the member's card details.
Luckily (for me) I had an email saying what happened, so I took that to the bank and I got the money refunded, so I could pay back all the money I had to borrow that week. |

Skimming an ATM card would not give the criminal enough info to move money around between accounts. Must be a keylogger. |

I'm pretty sure it's a key logger so it just goes to show how easy it is to get lazy and forget to update triple check and forget to wipe your own bum.
So now I have to reconsider my whole banking situation. I have always found internet banking great.
Oh and the guys at fraud tonight said it will be 8-10 days before I hear anything from them. |

If you have two computers in you house only use one for Banking , credit cards etc and have one to play with.
I use the desk top for grown up stuff and the laptop for this sort of thing. |

Unfortunatly I have a few computers between work and home so it's going to be a long cleanup job on this one.
On an up note I had a great day sunday with my son and a few of his friends for his ninth birthday, Water slides, go-carts, quad bikes bbq lunch and the happiest kids I'd ever seen.
It's starting to be off season so there where no lineups at all.
What a day I wish I was nine again. |

Good news,
All money has been returned to my accounts.
An interesting point I learnt apparently it's normally a month or two after your
info has been stolen that the transfers may occur. I would have thought that it would have occurred fairly quickly.
So change your passwords often.
I still cant find a definite virus that allowed this to happen. I have AVG on both my machines with auto updates etc.
I'm currently going test a few other free resources I saw in another thread.
Thanks for the support one and all |

Hmmm.
It's worth noting that I used to have AVG as well, and a scan with ad-aware and spybot found a nasty little program.
I don't use AVG anymore, I went and bought Kaspersky. It's really annoying when it intercepts registry edits, browser calls, and programs that try to insert into other programs, but it DOES that.
(Several anti-cheat game components and a few other things need to in order to function.) |

Here's a laugh for you. Back in good ol DOS days I used keep a pile of 5-1/4" floppies in the safe at work with every known virus I could find. I would then use these to evaluate anti virus programs before we deployed them in the workplace. This was pre internet days so most of the viruses where just plain malicious.
And now I can't protect myself. |
