I picked up a new one the other day...

The African Big Brother Scam. I think this isn't only a scam to get $1000 dollars off you, but also to nick your ID.

I would be appreciative if anyone would PM me if they follow it up: Try [email protected] saying that you are pleased you have been picked. You will be asked for your blood type etc. (?!).

More importantly, the emails ask you, to ask what you need to know about the TV show... A brilliant time waster.

I've been on this one the last couple of days. They sent a form saying it was for African countries but lo and behold after I informed them I couldn't take part as I was from the USA, they seemed to drop that ruling. So far the fact that I have a psychological disorder that makes me act and react violently when I feel pressure, I am confined or for no apparent reason doesn't seem to worry them. I'm starting to think it's too good to be true! Razz

Haven't heard from them in a couple of days tho.

I think that's part of it yeah, get a load of passports, get a bit of cash and I think they're trying to lure people to wherever the 'taping' is going to take place. Not sure exactly, it's a strange one.

Now they're asking for $16,000 for immigration fees, or at least as much of it as I can afford. I told them I won the lottery a few months back so I can afford it all. Razz

Well I managed to get through on the phone, unfortunately I could hardly hear what he was saying, so it's a bit boring and is mostly me doing the talkin' but here it is anyway I amplified some of his side of the conversation as I didn't have my speakers up loud enough.

Can anyone else make out what he was asking me to do? I think he just wanted to know when I would make the payment.

EDIT: Ah apparently he was wondering how much money I wanted at the end of the show.

Lol, left my computer for half an hour and come back to 3 emails. I asked for 15% of all profits from the show. Their lawyer has already contacted me and Big Brother have made my cut 17% straight off the bat! You can almost hear their excitement in their emails. They probably have the $325,000 already spent in their heads.

AFAIK, "next of kin" (not "a kin") refers to your nearest legal relative. It can also be designated in the case of wills and the like.

I am making progress - they have sent me some very, very fake licences:

They have only asked for $1000 though?!
