I'm Dutch (hence the PSV connection), but lived in the UK for 7 years... and because Bergkamp joined Arsenal around that time, I decided to support Arsenal... good choice I thought, Man U are only outclassed by Chelsea in buying talent, not creating it....

Sharpe, Giggs, Scholes, Neville (x2), Butt, Beckham and latterly Richardson, - a small selection of the world class ENGLISH (Welsh for Giggsy) talent nutured by Man Utd. Arsenal have only 2 English kids in their current first team squad, and for a lot of last year used cheap foreign imports, how many times did they field a team with NO British players in it??...... Hardly an argument that stands up now is it?

A lot of English clubs believe it is part of their responsibility to bring on and nuture young English players, rather than French or Spanish ones. Believe it or not, it is supposed to help the National team. |
