What do I tell my "refigee camp" Lad?

I have been stalling this lad for quite some time now. This refugee actually has a lawyer( I can't even afford one) and keeps hitting me up for an $1100 fee. I am out of ideas short of making him twig. Anything funny?

You can delay him indefinitely with a catalogue of personal and financial disasters that prevent you from coming up with the $1100.

The challenge is more a question of what to do to distract him from simply asking for this money, and getting him to waste his time and money on fruitless pursuits.

So, you offer the money on certain conditions, or pretend you have sent it and get him to chase around after it, for example.

Well, if it's friendship he wants, you should know a lot more about him.

Ask him:
What life is like in the refugee camp?
How did he end up there?
What was his life like before the camp?
Why did he lose all of his friends?
What does "Gospel" mean?
What kind of pets do people have in Africa? (or wherever he is)
If he could be a tree, what kind of tree would he be?
etc....

Have you seen the barrister's law license yet? How about his certificate of good standing from the Nigerian Bar Association? Does he have a diploma from an accredited law school?

One cannot be too careful!

His lawyer certainly won't be well enough qualified for you, so your lad will have to sack him and get another and wadda you know? he's not well enough qualified either. I've strung along lads this way for weeks Wink

I love to introduce new, illiterate characters who can't use the computer at all. When you bring back the original character you can almost hear him sighing "thank God this is over". Sure, the illiterate phase may be over but his troubles aren't.

In my longest bait I wasted 4 months with an elaborate escape story.

Very briefly: Father Scatman had to escape, he was sick, he and Judith got rescued, still he was sick, then he got better and started earning money, the money got stolen, they tried to find the thief, no luck, they had to earn more...

The possibilities are endless.

Send him a care package of cell phones and laptops..I recommend Scampatroler's shipping company.. Very efficient at losing losing stuff..

Of course you'll need a fully itemised invoice, detailing all charges and relevant taxes, before any fees can be paid. Prepare to have to explain the difference between invoices and receipts!

It's very rare, in my experience, for a Lad Lawyer to know the difference between invoices and receipts. Slap 'em hard for not knowing.

Is your Lad named Calabi? [male/female, no matter] Is it "Bujuburam Camp" in Accra? Hospital morgue bills to pay because 'Mum just died'? [or soon will?] The names Edith / Prince Daniel used? Camp Secretary from The UN Miss Kadijah Drah?

'The Camp' usually is in Ghana, and yesterday was a really-big day in Ghana--50yrs a country--so be sure to say you hope they had fun, if the scam is from there.
