@Radden... you should be able to download the Ubuntu package for Skype, then right click on that downloaded package and hit 'Package->Install' for Kubuntu or 'Install' for ubuntu.
Failing that, find the directory of the file in a terminal (probably ~/Desktop) and type
sudo dpkg -i <filename of package here>
To install it.
EDIT: You want the "Debian" package from this page: http://skype.com/download/skype/linux/ |

@Radden: I honestly cant tell you how to change the screen resolution on GNOME (the desktop used by Ubuntu), since I only used it for about 30 mins of my life and didn't get on with it. If you fancy giving Kubuntu a try (which uses KDE instead) it's a simple Right Click -> Configure Desktop (just like Windows) |

Sorry I didnt post an update, I installed skype and changed the desktop. It sounds like Kubuntu would be better. I'll try later on tonight.. I'm coding at the minute so I don't have time to mess around with downloads/linux .
ps: all this talk about command lines, and I am still lost.. where do I find the command line tool? (kinda like ms-dos).. Or maybe i'm thinking of the wrong command line thingy. |

In Ubuntu, it's called 'gnome-terminal', in Kubuntu 'Konsole' |

@Radden, one of the nice things about Ubuntu/Kubuntu is that it comes on one CD. |
