Thanks for prompt response. I am glad to know that the "BIKE " is still vailable for sale. The price is okay by me as I am pleased to inform you that I will buy the item on behalf of my client who was much intrested to make immediately payment from you, he has responded very positively and showed me how much is in need to make the transaction sucessful.the Payment will be in overdraft which will including the transportation of the item from your place to my garage. i have sent him the total price your cost price which 500. will be deducte from 3500Pounds and the balance will be send back to my shipping agency for transportation of the item to me.To enable me do so I will require your:
Name full :-
Address full :-
State:-
Postal Code:-
Country:-
Telephone/Mobile Number:-
So that the payment can be made to you immediately you receive the cheque, you shall take it to your bank and let the money be on your account.Upon clearance of the cheque into your ccount, I will now instruct my shipping company to come over to your location and have the "BIKE" transport to me.100 will be add to your cost price this means you should make sure the item still remain in the same condition till my shipping company will visit you for pick-up.
Thanks hope to read from you to confirm you got my e-mail.

This made me suspicious but I played along and asked which country the bike was going to etc. he replied...

John what i mean is that the cheque will including the shipping cost and once it clear on your account and you have send out the balance to the shiping agecy for them to transport the Bike to me.

Solution

Once the cheque cleared you deducted you cost price which is 500 from 3500 and the balance of 3000 will be send back to for the shipping processing so they can pick-up the bike from you place to my garage for final check-up before i send it to my client okay. if you are okay with this you can send me your payment info.

I stopped correspondance at this point as it seemed highly suspicious.

Then, a week or so later I recieved another email from this person....

Hi and welcome here. Very Happy

Well spotted realizing that this is an overpayment scam.
I'll probably move this to Surplus in a bit so it can be baited.

Thanks for the welcome and the info regarding locations.
I am from the UK but I don't know if one of the IP's is mine. I edited my email address for obvious reasons but tried to keep as much info on their for you guys to use/watch out for.

Hi Onions,

If you can get the lad to FedEx/DHL the check from Africa to you, it could set him back perhaps $30 or more.

Of course don't use your real address. For more info on the fake-check scam see www.bustedupcowgirl.com she's really good at what she does.
