One of my baits is not content with the normal bank account info and wants my "e-trading banking informations". Can anyone help me with a good fakey fakey? I honestly don't have a clue what it's all about, apart from it being some sort of share trading account.

Cheers

It's not normal for them to get serious over a bank account as they don't intend to deposit anything. Unless you have a mule account bait going. and they want to avoid posting cheques they flash your account.
I'm no expert on this and the only way I could see this working, is that they deposit a fake cheque in your account, get you to transfer the money. (as long as you have funds to do so, or a very nice bank manager).
I did have a bank account with a main stream bank. I had all my cheque deposits honoured no matter what branch I went too. I could place a customers personal cheque on the counter and 5 mins latter pull the cash from the ATM. I always figured that it would be all OK until someone bounced a cheque on me. As a small busines person it was really great.
However looking at it from this angle it could have been a scammers perfect dream. I understand that that bank doesn't do that any more Sad

Thanks for the info guys. This question arose out of a cheque-mule scammer that I'm toying with. He's demanding that I provide an e-trading account and I suspect that is the only manner in which he will deal with me. If he's desperate enough then he'll have to put up with my excuse;

Baiter mode on
Quote:
The federal authorities in my country have ensured that no resident citizen who has a criminal record is deemed suitable to carry on an e-trading account. My arrest for carrying prohibited substances at the age of 16 prohibits me from being granted the right to operate such an account.
Baiter mode off

I mean, seriously, just how many e-trading account holders do they expect to fall for their trashy little scam?

Regards
