How long do you guys normally wait for a reply after you make first contact?

It depends on many things...whether the lad has internet access over the weekend, if he can afford to use the net cafe every day, if he's balancing a load of victims while you're baiting him and can't get to you ASAP every time you write him, etc.

After you first make contact it could be anything from instantly (depending on if the lad's on IM at the time and looking for a vic) to maybe a week. Then it all depends on the type of scammer you have. Lads can be persuaded to send a pic of "her" and you can if you want fall instantly in love. Vlads are usually scripted for the first dozen or so emails so you can work more slowly but hint about them coming to visit you to speed up the process.

Some of them may never return back to the site. Lads often re-visit, but in case with vlads it is usually a hit-and-run. They register, mass-mail, and they are gone. They may not return back because they know they will most likely get booted off anyway, and also they may not even check their messages due to enormous amount of mail they get from Turkey and Middle East, which they are obviously not really interested in. Lads usually don't mass-mail as heavily as vlads, unless they are plain 419'ers. I kinda know that stuff because I maintain a dating service Wink

Generally, it works better when they contact you first, and you reply to their e-mail. But of course there are exceptions from this rule.
