Just tell him your gonna pray for his financial successful in an honest work. If he is still on the scum business (which he probably is), then he will ask you for money.

If he is just continue chatting with you and don't ask for money, who knows? Maybe he did reconsider his life?

Just an idea - but as he is in the mood to repent. Why not ask him to confess to all his scamming sins by providing a resume of his scam successes. It's something people have suggested we would like to know about. Wouldn't this be a perfect opportunity to find out, if he is genuine - or am I taking it too seriously ?
