After much discussion and heated debate (2 posts) on the PWT, Pug and I have decided to create this thread. Mods permitting, I am interested in what you ride and where you ride. Who knows....maybe a 419eater bike rally?

I've got a 1985 Honda Magna 750 with a V4, windshield, drivers backrest (which I can remove when I have a passenger), highway bars, highway footboards as well as the standard pegs, and Throttle Rockers on both sides (left one for a rest). It's no crotch rocket by any stretch, but it will do 75 or 80 comfortably with a passenger which is all I need.

I've had it for about a year and a half and have put about 10,000 miles on it, which ain't bad since I've only done day trips and can't ride all year around. It's only got about 29,000 miles on it and still looks really nice! I'll try to get some pics and figger out how to post 'em.

Yep

Raptor 1000, TL1000s spec, 128 on dyno and fitted with Power Commander and full race cans........Scares the shit out of me :yikes:

Don't know if I dare admit to this. Currently riding a Suzuki GN125 Embarassed

, with an MZ ETZ125 in the shed awaiting fettling & another ETZ125 Roadstar in bits awaiting a decision on whether to rebuild or strip for spares.

To be fair, I've not passed my test yet - got DAS booked for April.

quite fancy one of these if all goes well, but finding one in good order may be tricky:

Must admit though, half the fun for me is to be able to fiddle with things. That's why I like older machines - I'll swear I can take the MZ apart with an adjustable spanner & a Swiss Army knife Wink

Well it probably doesn't count but I used to have a 1936 BSA B18 with a hand gear change and footrest that stuck out a mile and would throw you off in any corner (stops to draw breath), and a Suzuki GS500E that scared the s**t out of me (after frequently locking up the back wheel at roundabouts). But I did travel from Oxford to Prague and back on it (not to be recommended)

I have never ridden my 1976 Honda 550F much. Less than 5,500 miles since new. SamSpudz is right, sharing the roads with cars is too dangerous.

^^Oddly enough, just read an article on the GS500E -

"like someone's loosened all the major bolts, slackened all the cables and smeared the brake disks in WD40. And let the tyres down"

I've had a go on one - didn't think it was that bad, but I didn't like the riding position - put too much weight on my wrists.

Sorry Samspudz, you'll have to start your own non-motorized 2-wheel thread. I'd be there, too, because I own a Fuji Sagres flatbar roadbike, a Fuji Sunfire 2.0 CUV, a Fuji Nevada 2.0 mountain bike, a Fuji Captiva single speed cruiser (greatly modified), a 1976 Univega single speed (restored and unmodified) and a Redline Monocog single speed mountain bike (modified only with a suspension fork.) This year I'm thinking of adding a Sun tadpole to the stable.

But this thread is only for things that go vrooooom!

(I gotta tell you that I like a windshield, though, for those long cruises on cold days at 70 mph)
