Another scam targetting a UK charity

More nasty stuff hitting charities - the website mentioned is a genuine registered charity and the scam mail also quotes the correct address at the bottom, but they appear to have substitued their own fax and telephone numbers. Does it ever end ?

I did not make my first e-mail yet, but reading between the lines "handling donations on our behalf" I'm guess this may be a check mule scheme

I got my job offer today as well, and the English was quite passable, although I doubt he read my response very carefully. He commended me on my impressive job history although all I told him was I was interested.

Anyway, Mr. Fartgoat (as I like to call him...) and I are getting on quite well. He has seemed pretty patient so far with my endless questions about the new job as well, but I think that my first batch of fake checks are already on their way to my fake address. I tried to get him on YIM this morning, I added him as a friend and his status shows up as on mobile but he claimed that he doesn't have an instant messenger.

However, he has opened up a whole new direction for this, as he has offered to give me the e-mail addys for the charities that I am wiring money to. That should keep him busy answering mails from several differnet addys.

Still taking this one pretty straight, except for never being able to spell his name right... Twisted Evil

I am playing the excited guy with a new job trying to impress the boss. Just wait until I get some company money in my hands though... Shocked

Same here. I have called him everything apart from his "proper" name and he never bats an eyelid.

I insisted on changing his PIN number to something else which cannot be repeated on a family friendly forum like this.

Early days yet.

I asked for and received the e-mail addresses of some of the charities to whom I would be re-distributing "donations". I suspect that these addys may just be alternates used by this same lad, and I plan to have much fun with them but I wondered if anyone else is communicating with this guy using these:

I have sent an "Introductory" email to each but have not gotten a response yet. If you have an email sent from these we can compare IPs to verify that it is the same lad and then let the fun commence. The alternative is that he may have created these accounts just for me, in which case I have to keep playing it straight for a while Crying or Very sad

I am expecting my first checks later this week. Then, most likely a weekend in Vegas. Anyone care to join me? Drinks are on Mr. Fartknocker! Twisted Evil
