Hi everyone,

My apologies if this topic has been placed in the wrong forum.

Just wondering if anyone knows of, or has done business with Bliss International HK (http://www.cellwell.com.cn ) (http://cellwell.en.alibaba.com/)

I'm looking to do business with this company. Any advice?

Thanks again

Cheers
Talis

cellwell claims to have been copyrighted in 2002, but was WHOIS registration is 2006 for one year.
I'd steer clear of that.

I'd also steer clear of any sites on alibaba- alibaba is legit, but many of the sites that are on it are not.

Frankly, the chance of getting scammed or losing money somehow when dealing with Chinese or Asian suppliers on Alibaba and similar sites is fairly high.

There really should be a giant disclaimer on the site that either you contact the manufacturer and see if this seller is an authorized distributor or you visit the business in person. Or, only order what you can afford to completely lose, because chances are you might be throwing your payment away for nothing. Even if a seller was previously proven reliable, there's apparently a lot of account hijacking/phishing that goes on.

There's also a very good chance that you're going to get deliberately counterfeit or copied goods when dealing with Asian companies. They often show pictures of Apple, Nokia, Motorola, etc., but never actually promise in writing to sell those brands. You end up with a crate of some other brand with no warning, sometimes. I've also heard a few horror stories of getting badly refurbished brand name phones that don't work. Counterfeits can get seized by customs, leaving you completely out of luck. No goods, no money.

Problem is, many real and reliable (reliable being relative, meaning they're not deliberately scamming you) Chinese sellers also use only MG, WU, and maybe T/T transfers, have free email addresses, wacko looking sites and so on. Distinguishing between the two is almost impossible.

Really, the best and safest thing to do is deal with a supplier recommended by the manufacturer or one in your own country. Apple or Nokia have no problem pointing you to people who sell their stuff. They, after all, want you to buy their stuff, not some knockoff.
