They have a talent to make people feel sorry for them. One of my lads now, stole the email account of another lad, pretended to be him, lied all the way - I know that as a fact. He opend a bank account with my details - details I had never sent! Now "my cousin" is about to send him his whole life savings, and he is not a fat American, he is Ukraine - people there are not rich. And his emails still make me feel sorry for him. Manipulative as my cats when they want something from me.

This is a very good lesson for life in general. Not everybody that makes you feel sorry for him is a poor guy. Sometimes they are just great actors.

Yep, the "I'm sick" stuff I pondered. My favourite pet wrote late last year:

Greedy scammer. I have heard nothing further regarding his state of ill health.

Since he now claims to be in Ghana, should I entice him into presenting a nice document at the Prudential Bank in Accra? With a toy gun?

I'll not answer that question, instead I'll depart with a thought:

Bait within the 'Eater Scambaiting Ethics, and certainly within the confines of the law and your own morality. Straight baiting is quite productive and you won't have a cross to bear. Wasting their time and reporting their bank accounts does have an impact.

I have had his second request for $700 within half a day this morning. What had me puzzled was his own ability to confuse himself and go off script.

Such behaviour could be very effective against a real victim. Against a baiter he is just opening doors for me enter.

Any time I feel even the slightest twinge of guilt I imagine my old granny starving because she gave one of these lads her life savings. The guilt goes very quickly.

Go to a site like scam victims united and you can read many stories that will stop you from ever feeling sorry for the lads.

When I started baiting my husband was completely against it and thought we were making fools of people from poor countries .... that is until I showed him stories of people loosing the money they were spending on chemo, elderly people loosing life savings, victims going to jail because they presented counterfeit checks to the bank, etc. etc.

Edit: Oh, and did I mention the victims who were kidnapped, tortured and killed by the lads?

Money talks, and the mugu will do anything for it. They will even betray their own partner. Here is little sample of a mugu trying to scam more money out of me. I offered the second $ 4k to become a member of my church

I pretty much only do straight baits, and have never spent the time or set the hooks deeply enough to get trophies, but I count it a success if I can get the lad off-script, get him confused and frustrated, and get him to make a trip to WU.The baits I seem to enjoy the most are those where the scammer continues to think that HE is making the rules and doesn't realize he's being screwed with. Does that make sense? I think that one thing that truly sets us apart from them is that we do raise questions of morality and right/wrong, etc. Do you's'pose the lads of Lagos sit around the Internet cafes and debate the ethics of stealing money from little old people?

Bait safely and follow your conscience.

As a teacher with decades-long experience, I can assure you - 100% risky free - that this letter is NOT from a kid... As a fake it is almost HOS material.

It is extremeley hard to fake a kid's writing.

I can give you a detailed analysis, but do not want to educate the lurking lads.

Don't feel sorry. These mugus would take your last dollar if they could. Think about the innocent children and infirm that are exploited. It is sick man! Maybe, if you are a religious type, you can justify your actions as though you are acting as a Divine medium for justice.

Or, for the less religious, you can see you actions as a "robin hood" sort of exploit. Either way, there is plenty of justification for you not to feel bad. You just have to find what argument will convince you.
