How cheap is a mugu?

I read something here some time back about how low a mugu will a go but I couldn't find the topic today. And I wouldn't want to necro an old thread anyway. But I liked the idea and decided to give it a try.

This guy first asked for $800 and I told him I didn't have that much money. He then said to send him all I had, without mentioning an amount. I then told him that all I had was $35 and Western Union would charge me $20, so all I could send him was $15, asking him if this was OK to release my fund. Here is the reply:

This is definitely my cheapest mugu as of today. Although I am now going to tell him that I had to spend $7 for lunch and ask him if $8 will still be OK.

So do I buddy ... I have offered $8 ... If it is OK with him I will send them to Abuja, Nigeria. He did mention something about Lagos ... Sorry, didn't notice that detail ... But all towns must be close by, I guess. And if not I am sure he will enjoy the ride through the beautiful nigerian countryside.

That sounds like a desperate mugu to me. Just like a beggar in the streets, this lad will accept any penny.

Don't forget to send him $4 in the end because it costs you $4 for a round trip bus ticket to Western Union. Laughing

You have to take into account that a law abiding Nigerian citizen earns on average $1 a week so it is worth their while taking $8 from you; that is about 2 months wages.

You can tell him that on your way to the WU office, you passed by a casino (cards club or something), and decided to try and bet on your 8$, so you can win some and send him more money!

Unfortunally, the goddes of luck was looking the other way... so you sent only 2$ (you had the brains to stop before you loose it all).
