Yep, got the exact same reply to mine. This scammer appears to be using fastmail so the IP addresses listed in the headers don't mean much. I traced it to Canton, Ohio.

So what is the general consensus? Is this possibly a scammer in the US? Or just a lad that got smart and got fastmail?

Is this safe to bait?

It looks like the main problem would be getting the scammer off script, he doesn't seem to want to talk unless a payment is being/has been made...

You would think that with an immediate request for 1, 500 pounds of starlings in the initial contact along with a very bad chop this mugu would not receive very many replies. He's also going for a very small part of the population, victims. I know that a company's best customer is a previous customer and once a numpty always a numpty but this guy is out there. If I didn't have three dumpsters full of mugus right now I would bait as a rich sucker that does not care about the 50,000 pounds of starlings.
