I have just received about 5 like this in my e-mail account....

Spam from the future!

I thought that the date was generated by the receiver's mail account, so how is this possible? All my other mail has the correct date.

Might have something to do with this:

But why exactly it was generated, I don�t know...at least now you know, why it is 2038 and not 2140 for example Wink

I get a lot of these, they do it, I don't know how, in order to make the mail appear at the top of your in tray.

Upon further investigation it's apparently been happening for a while, to various people. I hardly ever actually open/look at my spam mail, so I never noticed it before.

I do like some of the theories on the reasoning behind it, though.

i got a lotto draw one that said the draw had taken place on the 18th of january, in the mail itself Rolling Eyes

There are plenty of them. I find it quite comfortable. When I look into the spam folder to make sure no legit mail went there (happens from time to time), I just delete all those futuristic mails and have less to examine.
