I still get emails from BTI that the payment hasn't gone through yet. Someone didn't read all emails I guess. I like it here, in the twilight zone, so I'll stay dead and I have time to fix my paper report on tourist missing in Amsterdam Wink

And I have some time to read up on the eater now. I'll be back as my own kid soon though, they should be kept busy.

I probably mentioned a few pages back that I've been baiting the doctor from two accounts. At this point, one of the characters is highly suspicious and Gr4nt is trying to reel him in. The other character fell for Gr4nt's desk-clerk ploy and trusts Gr4nt completely. That one suddenly became much more interesting when this email came in:

Obviously, I gave him permission to proceed with the painting. Trophy time!
I've told him a couple of times that I want the MOU to address the eucalyptilization issue - many thanks to Pantsface for such a useful term. I am interested in seeing the response to that request.
BTW - this character has been highly complimentary of the way Dr. Gr4nt is handling this transaction. Unfortunately, the character will be doing a LOT of traveling between now and Christmas, visiting sales offices all over the world. That will let me slow this down and maybe get the painting before the doctor gives up.
The doctor is in Nigeria. I'm going to have to find an airport in a nearby country and have him meet me there. What's a good choice?

I too notice something strange. In the couple of last mails from the 2 their name at the bottom of the mail was in a different font. I think that a sure sign of "copy n' paste"

Yeah, I could, but being already in Amsterdam, it would make a short play. Why not wait another week and come back from Canada with Bob, my oldest who is cleaning up the paperwork now Dad has gone Smile

And I rather have the guy who tried to catch me in Amsterdam be on the wrong side of his boss. So when Bob comes to Amsterdam, he is sure Bob is real and he keeps his distance. Or is willing to do a bit more Twisted Evil

Could be same local network and all different guys, like internet cafe or homebase business. No way to tell for sure, I got a long list of different IP# on all stevens that wrote me, but he/they could also be using different machines/cafes

My character sent Grant a copy of Centaure's letter from Soludo. I saved Grant the trouble of claiming it's a fake, and just went ahead and blamed it on Kojo. Here's what I got back:

I need to start the setup for this by telling him that I accidentally deleted the email that included his family photo, so I don't know what he looks like - obviously, the person in the family photo he sent won't be meeting me anywhere!

And his son will be doing a painting of me. Dare I hope for a safari AND such a nice trophy at the same time??

My last messages from the doctor are VERY different. Almost as though he were a different person......

I didn't want to meet in Accra, since it was his idea, so suggested Abidjan. He agreed way too quickly, we're dealing with a fairly large group here, I think. Yes, someplace else ENTIRELY will be called for here.

Nope, a transfer is just a conformation it is send (and the bank needs your signature to be able to get it out of your account), it takes a few days to arrive in the other bank, mine usually cleared in 24 hours(RL) If they tag it, it might be a bit longer, like 40 mil to Columbia, that might get someone�s attention Wink

I think we (you and Krona) stirred it up a bit and they're reorganizing the whole gang, email account broken into, lost a victim in Amsterdam, hacker still active on account, but they changed the password (how could we(Barr) explain that?) Just making sure they are not working for an other lad or their own account. Not �Happy Campers� right now I guess. Twisted Evil

I've heard from both the bank and the doctor today. However, I am very busy for the next six weeks, visiting all our branch offices throughout the world before Christmas. I might also catch malaria or something, I haven't decided yet.

Anyway - there is no doubt in my mind that I am dealing with a different Dr. Grant now. It would be really, really interesting to know what had happened behind the scenes over there. I may just have been passed on to a closer, or the original Dr. Grant may have been removed for gross incompetence (I hope it's that one!).

I'm now trying to slow things down. I am going to start insisting on that portrait he offered - I want my trophy!!

One of my latest letters. I didn't e-mail the lad during the weekend and received several "where are you?, What's going on?" type letters. Maybe I should have told him I was having a "soft weekend" Very Happy
