now I got this off a site called myspace and I have never had any contact with this person or anything and well, I thought I would see what you all think cause I have no idea what to make of it.

Can you PM it to me? There's a surefire way to tell if it's a scammer, but I'll need his email address or the headers from an email he sent you.

A couple of questions I think you should ask yourself about this message:

1) The spelling and sentence structure. Is this how a lawyer writes?

2) The talk of marriage. Is this how a genuine suitor would approach someone in the first correspondence?

You already know the answer to the question you asked. If it helps the message is consistent in every way with the standard drivel spewed by West African romance scammers.

Edit: Yes the headers might show him to be a liar (i.e. in Africa instead of London) but perhaps not. There are many lads operating in the UK thanks to the mother country's generous asylum policies. The message itself provides enough evidence.

I shot off a letter to him yesterday and got this reply

The headers show him to be in Nigeria (well gee, what a suprise Rolling Eyes
