Nope. She told me she needed 3 grand and stuck to it. At least until last night when she told me her mother had died (while telling Stepan's character she'd love him to meet her parents.) because I hadn't sent the money in time. Oh yeah, and she was talking to us from the house that she claimed had burned to the ground last week.

She is already dead, and Wayne is to blame, but she will be available to meet me, as well as her dead father, when I come to meet my prospective bride in a month.
(if they are really dead, I guess I don't need to bring them gifts?)

I'm not sure why she said the house burned down. I'm thinking she may have lost access to it.
Maybe the older lady, the 'aunt', is a housekeeper in that house, and April slips in to use the computer?

She is fun to work, and pretty easy.

Just talked to April and she was going back to her province to sell her house. Mom is in very critical condition and probably has only a few days left. She is going to town to collect my Western Union payment. I hope she is not mad if she cant collect it. April could be a trophy machine as she had no objection to doing this-

Yeah, she will sometimes go to an internet cafe in her local afternoon.
I think I've seen 'view my webcam' next to her name on my pda, but can't do anything.

I did run into a strange one tonight, not a scammer, but a Filipina who insisted I mail her a pair of my underwear as proof of my love.

I told her I couldn't affort the postage!!!

I don't think she's a scammer, but may be an underwear collector, or some sort of prankster.

I'm not sure if you can call this one a scammer, or just an out and out beggar.

She contacted me, chatted a bit, then hit me up for $200 by western union.

She claims to have 2 kids, is 25.

We talked a bit about meeting, marriage, etc.

She looked like she was in a private room, and was wearing lipstick, (Little unusual for a normal Pinay) and a tube top. I figured with the tube top she was wearing, a little tug would suffice.
I asked for a peek at her assets. It turns out she was in a cubicle at an internet cafe, she swung the camera around....
If I sent her money, she knew of another internet cafe with private rooms, and she would show me anything I wanted.

I noticed Sheila online with 'view my webcam'.
I asked to view the cam before I sent her a pm.
She turned on the cam and was flashing somebody!!!!!
I figured it was a baiter!!!
I didn't have my cam ready at the time.

She wouldn't do it again, said father was awake. Did you see the dog and small child running around the room?

Not sure what her real name is.

She hit me up for money for 'college' the first time we chatted.
She claims to be a computer science major, but doesn't know how to send an email.

She had money to buy a webcam. She didn't have one before. (her claim) she wanted me to send her money for one.
She also told me she is 19, and would marry my 50 year old character.

she somewhat hinted that if she had a webcam, some things were possible.

With these filipinas, the 'scammer' identity is kind of in a gray area.
YEah, many are broke. She isn't too badly off, she has access to a computer in a private home, when many don't have a computer at home.
MOST don't there.

I'm not sure if we can come up with a definite formula for labeling them scammers. I think they're using bogus/sympathetic stories to augment begging, at worse. They will agree to romantic aspirations, which worries me. An unwitting victim could get milked by one of these.
Maybe they would marry them if they showed up? What would you end up with?? A conniving wife, temporarily???

New arena for us. There are some that are outright scammers, like the lads and vlads, and it seems a lot of opportunists.

I know I put this in another thread somewhere. Some guy, (USA) met a phillipino over the web. Documented the whole thing on a rambling website of his life, pic's, the works. You could tell he wasn't too stable at times in normal life. Anyway, he goes and marries her, brings her back to the states. They have a male child, and she takes off a few months later dumping him. He goes into a rambling again, of depression, ect. Then his site is gone. Only reason I followed his blog is he was kind of local to me. Didn't know him personally. Caveat Emptor.

Just a disclaimer. I don't think there is a higher percentage of scammers per capita for the Philippines, than any other country with a poor economy.
There are some very nice ladies, but, just like your own town, you need to not have your head up your arse, or think with your cojones when you marry one. You can find a bimbo to marry anywhere.

(Look at my inlaws!!))

Some of us are interested in trying to identify traits of the Filipina scammers. It's tricky!!!
