While this second guy does not strike me as the type that will ever come to Egypt, he is a lot more entertaining than the ass that will. Now, he is questioning the time of day that Sal writes to him.
By the way, lad #1 finally has his visa and now needs the final details before leaving. |

Guys,
I was just reading a bit about the place we are sending this guy and I found this! This is good news and bad news:

Animal life is limited to gazelles, antelopes, jackals, foxes, badgers and hyena. |
Just thought this might be of some importance. |

So that's where all the badgers have gone to... Perhaps you can blame the little guys when the money starts moving? You could get the mugu to go badger hunting! Personally, I'd prefer him wrestling alligators, but you're the ones running the show. |

Guy #2 is proving to be far more entertaining than our primary lad. I made the obligatory phone call to him and man, was he ever excited to hear from me.
Before the call, I would have estimated that there was about a 5% chance that he was serious about going to Egypt. Now, I would say that it is 50%.
Meanwhile, we are still waiting to hear about lad #1's visa situation. |

Great reading! Good manipulation, as usual. I think that some of these guys actually get to believeing their own lies, so maybe it makes them a little more credulous. Who knows? In any case, it's good reading!
It's been really hot in my neck of the woods lately and it makes me think of how toasty it might be for our little friend(s) there in Egypt. I hope they take lots of Gatorade.
I agree that it would be pretty funny if they met up with each other. I can't think right now how you would play that for maximum frustration for them and laughs for us, but I'll bet you can come up with something!
Carry on! |

I think Lad #2 deserves an extra serving of misery. Hopefully by the end of this bait some loan shark won't be too pleased with him. |

Both lads have been given directions to get to Abu Sunbul. I will call both of them very early Lagos, SA time.
Lad #2 is still sticking to his lame-ass story about being a highly visible public official. What an a-hole. At least he should have the money to travel then, right? The less honest this guy is, the less likely he is going to travel, but it would be awesome to get two lads, one from Lagos, and the other from South Africa to meet somewhere. |

As ever guys, pure class .
I can't believe he told you he wants to bring his lawyer into this. I can imagine the conversation now (if we pretend he has a lawyer).
Nutjob: Hi lawyer, I've just been asked to help some one I don't know steal 700k dollars. What do you think?
Nutjobs lawyer: Erm....... that sounds a bit illegal, as a high ranking government official, do you think that's a good idea?
Nutjob: Oh yeah. Hadn't thought of that. He said it was 100% risky free.
Nutjobs laywer: Oh well then, it must be ok.
Did you ever hear anything back from the missing lads in Darfur and or Uganda? |

Sadly, no.
I cannot get hold of Kuku or either of "the boys". I have even tried to bait Kuku as a different character and nothing. The phones of all three Darfur lads are no longer in service.
As for the Uganda lads, I believe that they realize that they were baited. Ingrid dropped all of the characters that were baiting him. I know this because whenever I have a super-safari going, I am always baiting the lad as a second, unrelated character. This way, if there is a long period of silence, I know whether or not the lad twigged on the safari. Ingrid's cell phone is still in service but I cannot ever get through or even leave a message. His voice mailbox remains full. |

Boooo .
Oh well, with a bit of luck he dropped some victims too.
Good idea with the second straight bait to keep tabs on your lads.
I was searching for some of the discussions about the morality of ur baits but couldn't find them. Do you know the links, or did they get a bit heated and get deleted? |

I sure hadn't noticed that either. Maybe it could get stuck there. Stuck at the bottom of course. I hope he brings his snorkel gear and all. |

Unlike the GPS transmitter in the Skeleton Coast bait, I think that this particular transmitter works just fine in really deep water. It would be interesting if the case finally came to rest near the spot where water gets sucked into the turbines that generate the electricity. |

Just to clarify: that's dams, plural. The old dam and the new dam. There is a short distance (less than half a mile IIRC) between them.
Enough water flows through them to make the Nile of course, and it's a big river. I can't remember how it works. The box might hang around for a while, but I see no reason it couldn't get past them if you want it to.
Esoteric note: the old dam is built just above the first cataract, which was believed by ancient Egyptians to be the source of the Nile. The river no longer runs through that section of its bed. |
