For once its superb weather here in Dublin. Bright sunshine, 24 deg C temp, and gentle breeze. Almost like a Cape Town "champagne day".

You have gem squash? Wonder if it'll grow here. I miss those things!

[Edit]: anyone who has been to Dublin and thinks (quite reasonably) that I'm hallucinating re the weather, check out These webcams
Best look at them before 21h30 GMT, as it starts to get dark around then.

We got a South African Store here - I get Mrs Balls for $2.99 a bottle! (I think that is a good price)

Gems..... Well - I don't have them yet - I planted them in May! - we have had nothing but rain over the last two months - I am expecting to see them soon though. Unless there has been too much water! I have a couple more seeds left (my backup stock Laughing

) just in case this current crop bombs out

Get Mrs Balls here too. However, no good Monkey Gland sauce and no good fig jam either Sad

I've been able to make a monkey gland sauce but its not quite the same.

no gem squash, but the pomagranettes are doing well.
And nooit, it's not raining here on the highveld, but the castles are ice cold, and the boerie is nearly ready to come off the fire Very Happy

pomagranettes and boerrie we get here in the U.S.A - in fact the Boerrie and Biltong I get here is amazing stuff! - all home made.

No Anchovette here either. Miss that, but not Tastic. Is it different from any other rice? Good luck with the gems, Rover, may they grow into big juicy balls, much bigger than lotta's minuscule 1 inchers Very Happy

BTW lotta, you're very coy about where you are located, as they say in the US.

Must say, boerrie is universal! The last boerrie I had was superb; I ate it in Connecticut, and it was made in the British Virgin Islands.

Aw I miss passion fruit and Lychees.

We get lychees for about one month of the year here....stuff myself.

So many of these things we can make but I miss not being able to just pick them up
