Our lad is on his way to Namibia. He is coming from somewhere in South Africa and should be there in the morning. My primary lad has informed me that a "friend" of his in London knows GPS and will be on the phone with the lad in Namibia when he goes to pickup the money. I have no idea where this is coming from or why he has suddenly involved yet another person in all this but I guess we'll just have to keep rolling with this.

Well, another safari unfolds that I have to check up on at least once a day to see what's new!
The thought came to me yesterday that what would make these better would be if the scammer himself actually went on the safaris. (If that's already been discussed, sorry. I haven't been keeping up too well with all the threads.) I always wonder what the lad says to those people to talk them into going . . .
Anyhow, this one seems to be unfolding nicely.
I also hope that we'll be able to find out what happens to the traveler this time.

McClure has now taken the money and placed it on the shoreline. I sent Okoma a map as well as the GPS tracker number that he will need to find the money.

There is no sign of the lad that is doing the actual recovery. Evil or Very Mad

He should be in Namibia by now.

Weeeeee! The lad (Tony Kalabi) is now in Swakopmund, Namibia (IP 196.31.238.219). He is staying the night and then is heading north tommorow afternoon to recover the money. He says that he rented a GPS locator and satellite phone while still in SA. He said that he was going to leave the phone turned off though because phone calls are VERY expensive (about $4 per minute for incoming calls) and will only use it to make outgoing calls. This sucks because I planned on calling him every couple of minutes.

The lad is six hours ahead of me so assuming that he starts heading North at noon (his time) I will have to be up bright and early to start moving the money around. Stay tuned. Tommorow should be funny as shit once the money starts to float off.

I still say that hollywood should be pounding YW's door for the movie rights to these adventures. Unfortunately, the Lads would have to share in the wealth. Laughing

Not yet. There are three of them involved here. The main lad in Lagos, the lad that is in Namibia and another lad that is in the UK. I hope to talk to the lad in Namibia tommorow, as he desparatly searches the coastline for the money. If I can record the conversation, I will.

The problem that I have with recording is that I have to have the computer speakers turned up loud enough to be able to be heard by the microphone. This is fine until my 5 year old comes bursting into the room asking me to fill her juice cup or make her lunch.

That stretch of Namibian coastline has a lot of shipwrecks and 'Here Be Pirates' stuff. I hope Cap'n Pugwash and the crew of the Black Pig don't come ashore and steal the money before the lad gets there.

OK. I've been trying for 6 hours to get sobbing boy on the phone. Every time the phone just rings. Now I'm getting a message that the lad is out of the coverage area.
