a trip to WU is done to collect money you have 'sent' them when they ask for it during their scam
Of course you delay as much as possible before evening sending them the MTCN (money transfer control number) and other info needed Wink

It wastes their time.. and can make them look fools in front of the staff Laughing

having been to Africa, I know too, that there can be a lot of waiting queues to be served Laughing

what do i need to tell them to make them belive i sent them money ie would WU give me a number or something or do i just tell them it,s in my name Question

which WU should i use or is there only one in there country Question

Stall as much as possible, ask for copies of the passport, visa, or a sign picture. You need to 'be sure' who you are sending money to.

They'll probably all be photoshopped, but you've wasted some time, and may have a little souvenir of the 'romance'.

Then just make up a random 10 digit number, and send it to them.
That will work for the first trip.
They may ask for a copy of the Western Union reciept thing before they go back.
Try telling them you transposed a number, reverse two numbers, try to get them to go back again without dummying up a reciept for them.
Of course, if you want to make up a 'blurry' WU form for them, I think you can get copies on this board. Might be worth a laugh to have them take it to the bank.

Western Union is one of the places they like to have money wired to. Easier for them to get. It will only cost them money if they have to go on safari, whether across town or across borders. Better if they have to travel father.

Just returning to the subject of safe baiting earlier, What exactly can a scammer do with my IP address. Can he locate my actual location? I've been baiting on work time from my office, using a fake yahoo address.

What can they actually do??

@lowrider: that's fine and all you need to send him
He may ask for a scan of the WU receipt... slap him for not trusting you and if he persists "attach it" and send him nothing
slap him for not being able to open it

rinse and repeat
