I sent out a very similar ASEM to yours- I have gotten the replies begging me to send it WU. But every so often I get the really dense lad who doesnt see this as his opportunity to really rake in the cash. I get this email today:
Quote: |
How are you doing today?Sal i don't understand what you are saying i don't work with any orphange,i want you to assist me claim some funds and if you are interested i will like you to furnish me with your details os that we can commence work immediately. |
Talk about someone who cant see the forest for the trees. |

I'm not really sure what happened with him. This is the first time I have ever heard from him. I am only guessing that he made an ass out of himself at the bank. I am not sure why he would give me the satisfaction of letting me know that. I do appreciate the death threat. It's my first one ever!
***UPDATE***
The lad came from Benin City. No wonder he was pissed. I'm am trying to reassure him that it was all a big misunderstanding and that he should go back to get the money. |

I love how they sound so concerned. I never tire of hearing someone act as if they are the victim. I just feel so bad for them. It would be nice if you could inform the bank that if anyone coming to this bank asks about such and such transaction, that they should be arrested on the spot. They are dangerous scammers and rapists. Maybe just throw that last one in for kicks. Have you actually been able to check any of the IP addresses to see if they are indeed there? It sure seems like this one made the trip! |

It's hard to tell with this one because I keep getting the Isreali service provider that provides access all over Nigeria.
I am guessing by now that the bank is starting to get really pissed because of all of the lads going there to collect the non-existent money from . I would not be surprised if they did start calling the police on these guys. |

At least you'll definitely get a bite! |

YW:
I want to personally and publicly thank you for giving me the most laughs I've had in six months!
If you don't mind, I'd like to try something similar, say to 10 lads or so, in Togo. Maybe 20. Maybe 50.
I'll word mine differently. I think I'll be offering some funds to start a youth football team. I'm thinking that this might yield some trophies.
I don't want to execute such a modality without your blessing.
cheers,
BK |

I certainly don't mind at all. God knows that I've copied many of other people's idea from this forum. I'm just glad I ran across one that works so well. |

@Y W,
You owe me a new keybboard and medical reimbursements. A mouthfull of scalding hot coffee went all over my shiny new flatscreen monitor, t.yboardand about 1/2 the cup was blown over my hands, face, neck. The rest spilled into my lap.
Cleaned my sinuses out good though....
Truly funny. Think how nervous those scammers are at the bank when the poolice are threatened upon them! |

Damn that is a great ASEM, I like the last response you quoted on here. Hopefully you will apologize and send him the REAL Moneygram information. You certainly wouldn't want the bank manager to call the cops on him would you?
Be sure to use something like:
Q: Are you down with 419?
A: Hands in the air, this is a robbery! |

I made one lad go back there three times now. Each time I told him that I called the bank manager and yelled at him for being so rude to my friends from the orphange and that "this time they promised me that they would give you the money." |

If everyone is going to copycat this, maybe another bank should be used. As great as this is, the people at the bank are hardworking people who don't deserve to have this parade of scum harrassing them. |

Yes. I thought about that too. I was planning on changing banks in another week and giving the people at Equitorial Trust a break. Perhaps the Abuja branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria could be next. |

Very clever one me deario.
Now you need to tell the lad that you are fed up with that branch, and you've transferred the pick-up to one where you trust the manager - which just happens to be even further away.
You will of course raise the payment $250 to compensate him for the incovenience. That's the decent thing to do, isn't it?

The only problem with all of this is that I have no way of really knowing how many of these guys make the 300 mile trip to Abuja. Now, if there were an answer for that one... |
You should always make sure they tell you the name of the person they spoke with at the bank, their title, and where their desk is located. Tell them you need this information so you can make sure the lad gets his money the next time. If they do not have that information, you should question whether or not they really went and get them on the road!
I don't think they could come up with all that without actually going to the bank. |

OK Faith,
we will send a moneygram payment , to the following bank, where we have an account:
EQUITORIAL TRUST BANK

Since I did not know the individual that was picking up the funds, I used the following test question/answer combination.
QUESTION: Who is number one?
ANSWER: World Boxing Promotions
Please note, I shall be out of the office for the rest of this week.

I couldn't resist......I just sent this out to a lad......I know, I need to shotgun ASEMs out to more than one, but seeing as how this was my very first attempt I thought I'd start out small.
