My wife has been looking for other work recently and came across www.netehomeworkers.co.uk

The site just screams SCAM! at me...any thoughts.

This has the same modality as the envelope stuffing scam. It is 100% pure pyramid.

They are certainly brazen, the advert for the "job" was in a respected local newspaper...and wouldn't have come cheap.

To be honest BC, I'm not convinced it's as slick or organised as a pyramid scheme. It look more like a "take the money and run" scam. Mad

I am desperate to bait this bastard but he has my wife's details unfortunately.

It is a one level pyramid scheme.

A pyramid scheme has two key parts:
1) you pay to join
2) the only way to make money is by recruiting.

Both fit, so they're walking like e-GYP-tians Smile

Hi, I've already taken this site down - we've had no complaints of fraud
actually being committed by this site but it did contain content of a
standard scam so we have closed it under our AUP

Hi - I just joined your forum specifically so I could reply to this post.

I did some digging around to convince myself not to pay any money to nethomeworkers - I'm glad I didn't.

some poor soul who has. has posted the username and password to the "training" area on another forum. as BobCat says, the money you earn is based on how many people you recruit to join similar scams that you set up. The training tells you where to find free advertising space. The "data entry" refers to the filling in of advertising forms.

What I don't understand though is that he is also advertising this "service" on ebay.

How is it that a) ebay allow such advertising and
b) He would jeopordise positive feedback on his ebay account?

Surely those who have succumbed to his scheme would post negative feedback?

They should leave negative feedback, and report him to eBay for being the little scammer he is... pyramid schemes are illegal.

Again I am not surprised that you get such an answer from the hoster.
There isn't anything obviously illegal going on at the site. They sell training materials for handling applications. That they don't collect taxes or something like that is not illegal as they don't pay wages. You are in effect self emplyed when you get going.

That it is a scam is 100% obvious to me, so I am just happy if the site goes away, but as I said I am not surprised that you don't get an OK right away from the hoster.

Maybe you are somebody trying to take down the site of competitor? How should the hoster know?

It says you will be paid �20-�25 for each application, but that might just as well come directly from the people/companies that send in the applications.

For example here in Norway there are many transportation companies that don't pay the drivers any wages. All the drivers are self emplyed and bill the transport companies. That way the company don't have to think about wages, taxes, pensions and social benefits.

But I totally agree that it is totally shady and the people behind it should suffer a long and painful death.

Pyramid Schemes in themselves are not illegal UNLESS

We all know that that site as a big scam. My point is that it did not anywhere in that page say that you needed to recruit people into the same scam to earn the money.

It said you needed to process applications. For all we knew it could be applications for work, credit cards etc. Anyway, looks like the site is down now and I am not sorry for that.
