I have been baiting a lad for a short time, I got him to go on a little safari, he left Lagos 7 days ago and is still on the road travelling Laughing

I sent him from Lagos to the north of Chad to pick up �10,000, he had first travelled 800 miles to the Chad border town of N'Djamena when he became stranded and had to sell his mobile phone to continue his journey.

He then continued to Abeche in Chad, which was another several hundered mile journey, he has now been stuck there for a few days, he went to the offices of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Oxfam Intermom for help after I said he had to email me from Abeche (I wanted IP proof he was there), they both emailed me on his behalf confirming he was there, and now he should be going another 130 - 180 miles further north to a desolate refugee camp in the middle of the desert Twisted Evil

, he has no money and they are worried about him back in Lagos.

And so they should be, it is apparently a very dangerous place to visit Twisted Evil

If you decide to give the lad a burn at the end of the safari, you should enclose THIS with the message. That should be good for a dead threat.

I hope he has had to sit next to nasty people suffering from personal hygiene deficit disorder on the bus every step of the way.

It might be especially cruel... but what if somebody warned the next refugee camp that a well know and wanted criminal was expected to be travelling through the area, and has been know to stop at refugee camps to ask to use the email facilities?

You could put something up on his website to let him know you are the same person - e.g. a map of Chad with the lads' journey highlighted on it!!!

But before you burn him maybe you should see if you can keep stringing him along some more - say you've moved again (to some even more godforsaken place, if that's possible).

If it's not too far from Ouse Cassoni he might go for it, since he's come so far already. It's the same modality the scammers use on their victims to extract more cash - they're in too deep to back out.

My son spent a week in N'Djamena a short while back, his company makes stuff for oil exploration or something, he's their IT expert.

Photography is not allowed! Armed Escorts in almost military vehicles between the hotel (crummy!) and the fortified and walled place of work. Incredible poverty everywhere. All in all not a nice place for a foreigner to be.

Also he had a meeting with the head of the local university as his company sponsors them. A university with all of one 64Kb internet link for the whole place!

Again, fantastic work. I was just thinking that you could still keep these scammers in the loop by telling them that althought your off to Brazil however you have to go back to Nigeria first to finalise some work and would be happy to pick our friend up on the way Smile

BTW, this refugee camp is pretty huge (as Michael mentioned)

I imagine it will take the lad some time to cover the whole thing before he decides he has a problem.
