He should definitely meet you at Three on the Bund restaurant -- very swish and with portions so small you have to phone up for a pizza once you've got back to your hotel. He could stay at the Bao An hotel in Pudong, not top-of-the-range, perhaps 4-star.

The Shanghai Sheraton is just down the road from my office. That's one of the most popular five stars in the city.

Ask him to contact me first, otherwise he might feel a bit pushed if he receives too many e-mails from people all claiming to be connected.

This is going to kick ass. If we can get this guy into Shanghai I can get him into A LOT of trouble, legal and otherwise. Let's play it slow - I'll mail him tomorrow and give him some very specific wherabouts of my (fake) location in Shanghai and see where he wants to go from there.

I work in a highrise, so there's a few places I could have him meet me etc and keep a discreet eye on him.
