I'm not sure that he likes her. I think it may have more to do with Windy thinking that she wears the pants in this family and has control of the purse strings. Confused

In the last YIM conversation, I basically told him point blank that she doesn't believe he exists. That is why he was so quick to comply with her demands, the pictures.

Remember, I have always believed him and I am willing to send him the money. He is merely helping me overcome some obstacles in sending him the money. Getting trophy pictures is much easier when they think it's not you needing the proof but someone else. Wink

I received this yesterday about 2 hours after I sent him the Money Gram "control number". I was waiting to get the normal "this number doesn't work send me the reciept" modality but I haven't herd from him for over a day.

grimreaper: You've hit the nail on the head. That is why I havent responded yet. Haven't quite hit the right modality to sound convincing.

I am suprised though about them flying to Abuja and not taking a bus. Are they doing so well that they consider themselves above taking the bus or are they using it as the better reason for me to try to resend the money to Lagos.

I started thinking what the real problem may be for him not wanting to travel to Abuja to pick up the $1,000. Most people, me included, would jump at the chance to ride a bus if there was $1,000 waiting at the other side. If he didn't believe me and my money were real he would have given me a curse/death threat by now and went of searching for another victim. But he hasn't, he wants me to send it to him in Lagos. Confused

Therefore it has to be something else. Then it occured to me, there was a pause on the YIM chat before he have me the name of the reciever for the original Western Union transfer and he even mispelled that. And it took a while for him to come back to me during the two MoneyGram trips. So I'm thinking that they may have an easlily bribable insider with Western Union to make obtaining money with that fake name easy. They might have had problems in finding someone in a bank to do the same for MoneyGram, and as they came back to me to recheck the number, he may not have been that helpful to Windy. Crying or Very sad

So as to his hesitency to travel to Abuja: If he is using a fake name to get the money, it could be a fruitless trip if they don't like his fake ID. Especially as it's a female name. Worse even, he could end up getting arrested. Shocked

Therefore, I need to get Windy to come clean and give me his real name for the fake MoneyGram transfer. Wink

Secondly, I understand that as the salesman on this deal you must affect payment on a timely basis, as long as the phones are with you then there is no sales to account for. Therefore, it is imprortant to you to receive the advance in order to complete the transaction. Your difficulty lies in a woman to lazy to travel to Abuja to retrieve the payment.

Therefore I propose the following, I will have MoneyGram change the receivers name to your and you can travel up to Abuja to retrieve the money. I have spoken to MoneyGram about this last evening and they said that they have no problem in changing the name.

So therefore, I think that this will be the quickest way to resolve that.

Please let me know the full name you want them to put on the form and I will go do that today.

You're absolutely correct when you say that he believes that the deal is still on...he may have some suspicions, but the lure of the cash is still to strong.

Leaving him some wriggle room in your last message might just do the trick...you havn't accused him of lying or trying to set you up, or being incompetent, but I think you've left him the only viable option...

I reckon he's off to see his Oga...trying to sort a male 'identity' so he can collect in Abuja....he might think twice about introducing Marian next time!

@ Mik: I don't know if you've considered this modality, but it might be worth a shot just in case your lad baulks at going on safari. He mentioned your agent in London. Have you considered setting something up a-la the Max'N Paddy bait that Shiver did. Ideally, you want your London mugu to be somewhere with a webcam so you can grab a screen shot, add in a bit of photo-chopping and sew the seeds of mis-trust among mugus Twisted Evil
