Technical question about posting

I am preparing to post my first bait. The modality I am using right now is copy and pasting sent emails and replies from my mugu in a chronological order. I am using just a plain text editor. (not notepad because of the size) I have noticed that some published baits use different colors for yourself and your mugu plus bolding for your humorous comments. I have two questions.

1) If I use something like Word to get the formatting just right, should I just copy and paste the whole bait right into Post a new topic box. If I do that ,will I lose all my formatting?
2) I think I understand that if I want to post pictures, I need to provide a link to something like photobucket. In other words I can't post the picture right here so that it loads when someone reads my bait?

I've searched the forum and I can't find a step by step on how to do this. If you want to post or PM I will defintely appreciate the help. Perhaps a stickie would be good for Noobs like myself. Anyway, thanks for any help you can render. By the way, I do understand the dangers of metatags using Word.

I would advise trying to post but use the 'PREVIEW' button to see how your page will look. The formatting tools are there in the posting screen, colours, fonts etc. Once happy with the way it looks, hit 'SUBMIT'.

I just cut and paste from my lad's e-mails directly, then I drop them in here with a [quote] command on either end. For pictures or documents, I save/scan them to my photobucket account, and drop them in here via the [img] command. Just make sure any pics/docs/hilarious mugu pics fall within the 600 pixel criteria.

Like EG said, hit "preview" to look at it before posting, and make corrections as necessary.

I'm right there with you Manchu! I struggled on my first posting.

I laboriously did all my e-mails quoting them one by one -it's a pain.

It became much easier for me when i got a premium account, so can only suggest this way (i'm not on commission!) I guess this way may also work with a 100megs free, or Yahoo geocities site - but I never tried it.

Anyway, I copy and pasted all my e-mails as a word doc, saved it as webpage and then loaded it up to my file manager on eater, then paste the link to my post - it was as easy as falling off a log.

sorry - I can't help you on the formatting of colours.
