Oh yeah, sorry forgive me, it is pretty early in the morning here, and I am sitting on a plastic chair in a very non-ergonomic setup in a completely empty townhouse which only has the computer and me in it. Wink

I am totally blown away by the fact that I have a lad under arrest in the US, but I know it would never have happened without the help of a lot of people here at the Eater, so I want to say a big thank you to everyone. Teamwork is really what this place is all about, and anytime I have asked for help people have done everything possible to help me.

I don't think there is any chance of getting him back on the hook now, and I will post the 52 minute long audio from the other day shortly.. Smile

When you say you don't think there is any chance of getting him "back on the hook", does that mean you don't think he'll end up being charged, or you don't expect to hear from him?

well, i spent 52 minutes the other day and got him back on the hook and he gave me his address.. I don't think there is any chance of doing that again! Sad

But he claims to be addicted to me - as you will soon hear in that audio which I will process and upload.. Smile

No EK, thank you. I'll take the shield, especially a non-South African shield, but you got the guy to compromise himself. As my contact in the USSS said these guys rarely expose themselves and can be very difficult to catch. You got him to think with the other head.

By the way, I noticed today we have the same Eater anniversary, coincidence? I think not...this day was written in the stars.... Laughing

I do think everything works out for a reason - I start work tomorrow and the only reason I have been able to pull this off is due to the amount of spare time I've had, not having a job to go to.. First of all, congrats to all involved EXCELLENT work!!
Secondly, you all deserve a sheild...however since it was an arrest in the US, would serve to purpose if there were a USA flag like sheild, or one specfic to international busts.

Well, sad news...the lad has been released. He entered the US on a legitimate Nigerian passport. He has a brother in the US military that was picked up as well. Turns out the lad is married and the brother is quite pissed that 1. His brother is a 419 scammer and 2. his brother was going to cheat on his wife and 3. That he himself got picked up as part of the scam

The USSS has no doubt that he truly is a scammer, but there is not enough evidence at this time for either them or Immigration to hold the guy. My contact stated that it was very good info though, things just didn't work out this time. He requested if possible that if we do have a lad travelling to the US we give them better notice Embarassed

so they can set up a proper sting.

That said, they are pleased with the info we gave them.

And EK, he told me that if you really looked like the picture that you sent the lad, he would leave his wife as well Very Happy

I just had a great chat with your mate from the USSS, Nap Olean. Though this time the lad has been let go, there may be opportunities for us to work with them in the future, I am hopeful.

I can't believe he was going to cheat on his wife! But we were going to be married! What was he planning to do, have two wives? Oh man this is some classic stuff. I guarantee, his wife WILL find out, and he will be in serious trouble!

The major trouble with evidence is I ASEM'd the guy, and it only took about 10 emails for him to fall in love with me, so no real discussion re money took place.

This is a big step forward for Eater because even though the scummer got away it raises our credibility with Law Enforcement agencies, proves we can work as a team without egos getting in the way, and paves the way for the kinds of relationships that we have with Rian in South Africa.
