I've seen a few spam posts like this in the past few days. At first I thought it was hilarious, but now I'm genuinely curious. I mean, a lad stumbles upon this site; what's his first thought?

a) There are people out there who respond to my script emails, waste my time and string me along even though they know from the outset that I'm a scammer? How could the world be so cruel and heartless?!
b) I should have a read around here; might be some useful info on how to spot a joker.
c) I'd better post my details along with my format here; I'm bound to get a lot of responses!

It's like these spammers really, really, REALLY want to be baited. Is it possible that these threads are being posted by the fabled mythical badgers? If not, what on earth is going through the minds of these spammer lads?

I have a blog site that gets these as well as links to fake sites and bogus drug companies, etc. It always amazes me that they take the time to register, some multiple times.

Must be getting paid by the entry but I can't see how it pays off!

Maybe it's an SEO thing; trying to bump their fake sites up in Google's ranks?

Still seems like a lot of effort to go to for very little reward. I thought lads' formats were based on the fact that sending a scripted email or thousand costs next to nothing, both financially and time-wise. Going through the rigmarole of signing up for various sites and posting in them (knowing that your posts and accounts will be removed in short order) just to maybe possibly bump your fake site up by 1 or 2 positions doesn't seem like a very good effort/reward payoff.
