Hi there,
Call me stupid or naive but I recently purchased a hairless kitten from a breeder in Ukraine. I spoke extensively with her, spoke to other references, checked out her website, cat show participations. It took months to receive the cat and when we got her she was a different cat than I was shown in pictures. She was affectionate and loving so I was willing to let it go. But It was discovered at the vet that she is an adult cat with severe health issues. I know there is little chance of getting my money back but I want to assure no one ever has to go through this. I have her mailing address, email and all Facebook information. She is an active Facebook user with many photos and many friends and checked in places. I also have paperwork she sent me from ICFA (pedigree registry) which I know to be falsified. I am already in contact with ICFA to verify. What would be your advice for taking on this cruel animal abuser so that more cats and owners do not suffer the same heartbreak?
Thank you so much for your help.
Heartbroken and enraged,
Albertus |

I'm amazed you received a cat at all. While I won't call you stupid or naive (it happens), I would say you are probably the best thing that could have happened to the cat.
We don't deal with this sort of situation, but why not give that hairless gargoyle a big hug and be thankful you have a new, affectionate part of the family?

ETA That's what I did with my kids. |

Welcome to Eater. To add to what Justcold said, we deal with Advance Fee Fraud. In that instance, a person would pay for a pet that would never arrive. Your situation is quite different, since you did receive the cat, even if it's not what you thought you were getting. |
