Question for the email/IP address experts

Oh mighty nerds, I have a question.

I'm pig hunting with a new lad who's assisting me in dealing with his barrister and I'm curious if they're the same guy or at least near each other. Both are using yahoo accounts. The lottery lad's IP works out to:

IP Address 98.138.89.166
Location United States, Nebraska, Omaha

The barrister lad's is:

IP Address 98.139.211.206
Location United States, New York, Lockport

Is there something location-specific to which server things go to or is it just a factor of the load on the network? Is there any correlation between where the lad is and where the email is routed?

The IP addresses you posted are both yahoo server farm addresses in California. Standard stuff for web-based yahoo email. Do you have separate IP's that showed Nebraska and New York?

Do you see a Received header where Yahoo received it from somewhere, or another header, such as X-Originating-IP, that shows where it originated from?

I checked some headers from other emails they sent and they're all 98.136.xxxxx, looks like the last bits are assigned by the network.

Seems like that's not a way to determine anything about location.
