I have a scamer who wants me to send them $557 via MoneyGram

Does anyone want to jump in and take over for me? As comical as this is, it does take serious time and commitment to waste this guys time.

Long story short, I put up an ad on Craigslist to sell my sub woofer system and this guy contacts me saying he wants to purchase it for his, "wonderful son,". Hes posing as a military officer, and has terrible spelling and grammar errors when he texts me. He also claims to have already sent me $1577.00 that is ready to be credited to my account as soon as I send him back 577 for shipping. He also posed as papal and sent me two emails saying the money is ready to be deposited into my account. It's all so very obvious and I wanted to see if anyone wanted to take over because I don't have the time or the energy. If you would like I can post all our conversations on this forum so you can see exactly where we are in this Mexican standoff. Very entertaining but somewhat stressful of a situation.
1<snip> is the number he uses to text me and <snip> is the email address he uses to pose as pay pal. He claims to be Mr David Robin.

Please drop all contact with the scammer immediately he has your personal details so it's not safe.

I snipped your post because we've had problems with people posting phone numbers of bosses or exe's and there's no way to check whether it's really a scammer.

You received some good advice-this scumbag has some of your real life details because you posted on Craig's List. I know you can't avoid it but baiting a criminal with real life info just isn't safe. If you want to bait a scammer, do it from a totally fake email with totally fake details.

If you'd like to help a victim avoid being scammed, please take a wander over to our sister site, SW. You can post the scammer's emails and texts (taking out YOUR info) for potential victims to find.
