I've been baiting this guy for about a month now - I'm based at a mining site in the middle of the desert in Western Australia.

Unfortunately our satellite phone is dropping out since a recent storm took out our comms - however the lad has done some great sleuthing work to prove me otherwise:

Are the three people on satellite phones? Is the storm local to the mining area?

I set up a Laser voice mail phone message for your lad. This is the computer generated outgoing message.

Quote:

Thank you for using the tele star satelite communication service. The party that you wish to speak to is being contacted at this time. Please be patient.

We are sorry, imarsat satelite four has just passed over the party that you are attempting to contact. Please call back in exactly 11 minutes and thirty seconds and imarsat satelite number twelve will conplete your call. Thank you for your understanding.

Have your lad call . Tell him the Sat phone is from the USA. I often tell my lads that my Sat phone is free to the caller. The phone number can be used by all and will be good for 7 days after the last lad calls it.

BTW, the number can be used by any baiter at any time.

My (limited) experience with sat phones is related to their use upon the open ocean, but troubles with service deactivations are the same as land based ones.

Several reasons for loss of service are given at the end of a news item about the Kaufman family's rescue off the USA west coast last year. Not sure if any of the information can save your bait, but some good suggestions/excuses are given for any future loss of service troubles.

Thanks Connie, I love that! I think this one is about to ditch me - I couldn't help myself and gave him a complete bollocking and now he's sulking. He is one thick so-and-so...

I will certainly use that with some other baits I have going though - if I may?

I use the same story with anyone who I have baits going through this character - just in case I stumble on the same lad running a different scam.

Yes, it will keep the last 20 voice mails but does not transcribe them or send them as MP3 files. Most lads will not leave messages unless they are firmly hooked.

No lad has left a message since the box was set up.

Someone did call on Wednesday but did not leave a message. The outgoing message quality is absolutely horrible and perfect for lads.
