doing what the scammer says not to do

I recieved an email from a scammer and it said that it is a box and that I shouldn't disclose that money is in it to the "security company" or else they will confiscate the box. what happens if I decide to tell the "security company about the contents of the box. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to doing so? or is it mainly just to get the scammer angry?

I do it sometimes and usually get admonished for doing so. They usually carry on with the Scam saying that the Security Agent didn't notice your mess up.

Another fun one is if the Lad sends payment information but not the WU info to tell him you mailed a check to his address.

Most of the time, the "security company" doesn't care about the content of your email. Just like your first email to the lad triggers the next page of his script, your first email to the security company triggers the next page of the script.

To build on what Big Al said, if at any time a lad gives you a semi-reasonable looking address, note it. Then, the first time you get to a payment modality, ignore the lad's WU instructions and mail him a payment.

I've had some good fun when I tell a friend what's in the box and the friend then contacts the security company to try and steal the box. Lad ping pong.

I sometimes like to forward the original character's mail to the security company and CC the original character as well. Then when the original character moans I send another mail to the security company (CCing again) telling them to ignore the original mail

I've had a few lads drop me because I told the security company.

I guess they figured if I can't follow simple instructions then they weren't going to waste their time with me.

My option -- Write an innocuous e-mail to the "security company" but alter the address by one digit. The e-mail, of course, bounces.

Then, forward the bounced e-mail (complete with the heading that it was undeliverable) tothe scammer. Be sure to fix the one digit alteration in the address before forwarding it!!! Complain that you cannot contact the security company. Ask him to verify the e-mail address for the security company.

Rinse. Wash. and Repeat as needed. Eventually, the mugu has to get a new security company because you cannot successfully contact the original security company.

Then move on to other games.

I pretty much always do exactly what the lads tell me not to do. My character is very stupid and very rich, so the lads usually stick around, but it frustrates them to no end.

Or sometimes I act like my character is complying, but I do it in such a way that everything goes wrong. Then I blame the lad, because I did exactly what he said and it still went wrong.

Cammy has sent the money to the wrong people a lot - that is, not to the "police accountant" or the "agent casher" as directed, but to the FBI person who sent the email. They can be quite angry when told to pick up the money 'themselves', but Cammy is very stubborn about money matters.

I like to use the lad's instructions against him. For instance I had one complain that I was taking too long to respond. I politely reminded him that he told me to tell no one about this transaction and that I could only reply when the wife and kids weren't home. Shut him right up.

In your case I suggest that every time you go to WU the clerk asks what the money is for and you panic and leave. After all you are just doing what you are told.

The easiest way to find out, especially during the early days of a bait, is to hit him up from a second baiter address. Take one bait in one direction and the other in the opposite. It can be an interesting sight to see.

And, make sure you tell him the check was quickly cashed!! You can run him around for days asking him about who cashed the check at his location, etc.
