So I've been working on a lad trying to get another piggy. Finally after a couple of weeks I "thought" he'd cough it up, but instead I get this. The name of the bank ... wait for it ....

"P1under & F1ee Federal $avings Bank"

I guess they really do read the forums here LMAO

I'll have to post the whole thing over on the Published board ... I struck out on this one so on to the next!

You have brought up one thing that really concerns me ....the "lads" can surely do a google search and find this forum and then its game over ?

I found the forum on a google search so they can as well ?

A number of forums i use you cannot read unless you join ....you try and join and your ip address is searched for location and you need a 2 post count approval .

Your reply from the lad would seem to suggest forum security has been compromised ?

I actually wondered that, too ... but when I googled it, it appeared in a couple of the descriptions on the search return page. It came up on a few of the threads so my thinking is that they could have just reaped it from the Google page itself.

What do some of you think?

There are two strategies, the first is to put anything that could bite you via a google search in the help, hints & tips forum, which is behind your password.

Second, you can leet the thing if it's out in the open (like here or in the publish forum)

Kinda like Plund3r & Fl33 Federal Savings Bank.

^^^Leeting can be difficult on people. P&F, Flunder and Pee or would all be appropriate and hidden from searches.

Well I remember seeing the bank mentioned on a few threads while reading the forums to make sure I was informed before really getting in to baiting, but I'm not sure which threads they were on. I've also seen where lads have "caught" baiters here on the forum so I'm not sure how anyone could prevent lads from finding info out 100%. I will edit my post, though, to disguise it a little. I just found the email funny because I've never had a lad turn the tables like that.

On another note, I've got a lad that is working his butt off for $400 so just gonna let the lad from the P&F bank go and turn to the other guy LOL

This board has been up for many years so I kind of doubt it's been compromised. In my experience, a lot of lads don't use Google for even the simplest of searches (otherwise, a lot of our fake addresses, company names, etc. would have gotten rumbled immediately).

More than likely, the lad got baited before and some other baiter gave him the bank name. (IIRC, it was one of Shiver's favorite banking institutions and I know a lot of other baiters use it.)

In return, if the lad asks for anything related to a law firm, try to drop the name of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe.

That sounds like a lad recycling a modality put out by baiters. Lets hope it continues to circulate. Many potential victims will have their eyes opened.

Back in law school, that was our "go-to" dummy firm name. I also liked to use the august firm of Hetfield, Hammett, Ulrich, and Newsted but (even with lads) there's a pretty good chance that one might get me rumbled.

I've thought of calling a firm , but haven't actually used that in a bait. (The last name is pronounced like the sister language to Anglic, not like cooked in oil.)
